I immediately purchased a 4 unit apartment building with a VA loan. My wife and I lived in one unit and rented out the other three. Shortly after that, and still while on active duty, I purchased another home. I was hooked and started building a rental portfolio of over 100 units. I still to this day love buying rental property. I obtained my real estate license in 2000. I started selling new construction and my career took off. Eleven years later, and after hundreds of happy clients I am still a full time Realtor. I work hard to represent the best interest of my clients. I have four rules I follow with clients: 1. If I wouldn't buy the home or recommend it to a family member I won't recommend it to you. 2. I negotiate as if it were my money on the table. 3. I will always be honest about house values. 4. The client is always more important than the commission. 1) What advice would you give a buyer trying to purchase a home?
Find an agent that you have a good connection with, and that you feel comfortable communicating with. A Realtor should let it be known and show that they work for you, not the other way around.
2) What advice would you give a seller trying to sell their home?
Ask your agent any question, even the hard ones. Neutral colors make rooms seem bigger, and a house feel fresh and updated. Such as grays and light tans. De-cluttering is a must and makes a house show well.
3) What types of clients have you worked with?
I am proud to represent clients from all areas. I am a Residential specialist, as well as commercial and rentals. I also do property management.
4) Describe a recent transaction you are fond of. How did it go?
A first time home buyer, in the military, who was moving from New York to Delaware. They needed to know everything about the housing market, how loans work, local schools, churches and more. I have lived in this State for 30 years and pride myself on getting people in the house that is the best fit for the entire family. To help make a house a home.
5) How did you get started in Real Estate?
I worked for years in the IT industry, servicing a large amount of Realtors for their IT needs, and decided to make the transition, and could not be more please. The job has its stresses but is beyond rewarding getting people into a home or getting sellers top dollar.
