I immediately purchased a 4 unit apartment building with a VA loan. My wife and I lived in one unit and rented out the other three. Shortly after that, and still while on active duty, I purchased another home. I was hooked and started building a rental portfolio of over 100 units. I still to this day love buying rental property. I obtained my real estate license in 2000. I started selling new construction and my career took off. Eleven years later, and after hundreds of happy clients I am still a full time Realtor. I work hard to represent the best interest of my clients. I have four rules I follow with clients: 1. If I wouldn't buy the home or recommend it to a family member I won't recommend it to you. 2. I negotiate as if it were my money on the table. 3. I will always be honest about house values. 4. The client is always more important than the commission. We were moving from Philadelphia to Delaware where we absolutely knew no one. After looking online at several different homes/areas we drove through those areas ourselves. Eventually, we were put in contact with Nick Barkins. We are so so glad!! No matter what homes we wanted to go see Nick was always available. He even went, on his own, to take pictures of a house that we were interested in that hadn't had yet had them posted online. And when I mentioned that there was another house in the same development that had just been listed, Nick quickly made an appointment for us to see it. It is the house that we eventually bought! We are so happy in our new home. He gave us many pointers and was never too busy to answer any of our questions. And I always had one. I would highly reccomend him to any one. I feel he was not only our agent but our friend.

Nick was a pleasure to work with. We couldn't of sold our house without him. Our house was on the market for no more than a week before we got a buyer. He helped us get those last minute repairs done so closing wouldn't be delayed. He knows what he is doing and that is why I not only trusted him with selling our rental property but he also helped us with the purchase of our house we have currently been in for 5 years.

Nick turned out to be such a wonderful surprise. We didnt have a realtor and our mortgage company recommended Mr. Barkins. Nick was professional, hardworking but most importantly understanding. We had a modest budget and we were finding the market small but he stuck with us, sent recommendations and took us out to see a home at least twice a week. I loved that he was so honest about the quality of each home we toured. He would always comment on the roof and windows having checked them when we were looking around. When the seller had some issues just before closing Nick fixed everything! Its because of him that we have our very first house. We are so grateful he came into our life.
