My wife and I had a phenomenal experience with Michael and Jill Lange! The Highlights: They are Very Professional - They always met paperwork timelines and were always on time for scheduled meetings and appointments. They are Local Experts - They know the ins and outs of the Brookings area, and provided extremely helpful insight into local resources and home ownership considerations. They Keep You on Track - It's easy to get off track when house shopping. Michael kept me focused on my goals, my budget, and timelines for getting it done. When I tried to push the upper limit of our budget, Michael would reel me back in. Once our offer was accepted, Michael laid out a schedule of requirements and check points for us to move quickly through the final stages. They Are Focused on Your Needs - We "test drove" a handful of realtors. But everyone else was focused on selling us one of their homes or maximizing their commission. Other realtors were also often late for scheduled meetings and either spoke down to us or were very patronizing. Michael and Jill were the only ones who sat down with us to truly understand our needs before moving forward in the process. After meeting with 5 or 6 realtors early on, we still hadn't found someone we 'clicked' with. Then, after just a brief conversation with Jill Lange, my wife came to me saying "I found someone different. She actually cares!" They See the Process Through - I was shocked at the lax work ethic of the realtor representing the seller of the home we ended up buying. She's a big-name local realtor that must get by on name recognition alone. The seller repeatedly missed deadlines and my family and I arrived at our new home AFTER close of escrow to find the owner STILL LIVING IN THE HOUSE, with truckloads of her furniture and personal items still in the house. We spent well over a thousand dollars hiring movers and cleaners to remove all the items left behind and clean the house. Michael and Jill offered to help and even wrote us a check giving us a chunk of their hard-earned commission to offset the extra expenses. We didn't cash it -- it's not their fault the other realtor didn't do her job! Michael and Jill have checked in on us several times since we moved in. It's been 5 months since we closed escrow on the house and Michael and Jill continue to keep in touch, making sure that all our questions are answered, long after they were done with the sale. If you want personalized service by a team of realtors who will work tirelessly for you, then Michael and Jill are the way to go. If you want to be kept on track so that you not only find the right home, but also go through the house-buying process quickly, then Michael and Jill are the way to go. Mor importantly to us, they have impeccable integrity...they will do the right thing, which I could not appreciate more, and allowed us to trust their guidance.
