ZillowVERIFIED5 stars for market analysis, staging assistance, and initial impressionsWe worked with Janet and Michael for our home sale in the fall of 2019. Janet & Michael excel in their initial impressions. They certainly seem knowledgeable about the area. Their market analysis was right in line with recommendations we got from other realtors, and they provide superb assistance with staging to get the house on the market That, combined with the fact they included a clause in their contract for 100% satisfaction, convinced us to hire them. 2 stars for negotiation skillsWe priced our house at the lowest value of our market analysis for a quick sale. We got a full price offer in two days but Janet and Michael negotiated as if they would not be able to get another. Per realtor advice, we gave up $3500 of excluded items and forfeited the right to have backup buyers (stopped showing the house immediately) in the event things could not be negotiated after the inspection. By the time negotiations ended after the inspection, we found ourselves wishing we were represented by the buyers realtor.1 star for trustworthinessThis is the biggest reason we would never recommend Michael and Janet. We gave Michael specific instructions regarding buyer access to the property on closing day. Simply stated, they were not to have access to the house until the sale was complete (documents signed and recorded). Michael unilaterally gave the buyers access to the house and permission to start moving their belongings onto the property. When questioned on this, he stated the sale was completed earlier than scheduled. Imagine our surprise when, 4 hours later, the closing attorney called to say the buyers were asking for additional money prior to signing the documents and completing the sale. In conclusion, we would not hire these real estate agents again. If the sale had fallen through, we would not have continued to work with them.
