Do not get discouraged! The current market is definitely different, but interest rates are still at a historical low. There is something out there for everyone. My best advice is to get pre-approved or have proof of finances ready before you start looking. The market is still very competitive at the moment, and you have to be ready to make the offer as soon as you find your perfect place.

Everyone wants to get the highest and best offer for their home, make sure that you give your real estate agent a tour of your property. Point out all of the improvements and special things that you love about your home. Have your agent run a market analysis and see what the current trends are in your area for similar homes. If there are any suggested improvements to be made get those done or think about that when you are trying to determine your asking price for your home. Make sure your agent shares the marketing plan with you so you have an idea of how much exposure your home will be getting.

I have worked with buyers and sellers. Some who were ready to go and some who are still waiting for the timing that works for them.

My father was a Realtor and Builder, you could say I was born into the business. But as much as I admired his work and enjoyed going with him to sites I didn't start in the industry until later in life. My first real experience was as a photographer. I was asked to take some pictures for MLS which became a side job for a bit. I was encouraged to get my license by some of the agents I was working with and here I am.
