About Melisa Klem

Melisa has spent the last 20 years as a resident of Maryland after growing up outside of Philadelphia, PA. She is as close to being a DC metro native without having been born in MD. She went to high school in Montgomery County before attending the University of Maryland College Park to earn her Bachelors of Science and later her Masters of Business Administration from the Smith School of Business. She is very familiar with Montgomery County, its schools, and local communities having lived in both Silver Spring and Sandy Spring. Now a resident of Sykesville, Melisa is pleased to also work with clients in Howard, Montgomery, Carroll and Frederick Counties. She is a mother and understands the needs of families in these communities. Melisa is also a farm owner and enjoys working with those in the agricultural community immensely. Melisa also worked for a local land trust in the past and brings this expertise to clients considering selling or purchasing land with conservation easements. When not working hard for her clients, Melisa can be found managing her farm and riding horses. A successful dressage competitor, Melisa is the owner of a boutique boarding farm in Sykesville, MD. She understands the needs of discriminating horse owners and prides herself on helping even the most discerning equestrian find their dream barn (and home for themselves as well!) Whether it's a neighborhood home, small hobby farm or an elite training facility, Melisa believes that every client can find the home of their dreams.

Working with Sarah was the best choice we made for our home buying journey. Sarah is extremely knowledgeable and paid great attention to detail throughout the process. When we toured homes, she spotted issues with the homes immediately, which helped us decide what inspections to request or how we could be more competitive in a tough market. She recommended excellent home inspectors and lenders. We had to navigate a tricky situation with the house that we purchased, and Sarah was so professional in tough conversations with the sellers. She also made us feel at ease all the way through. During the closing process, we had many questions and did not understand some of the technical aspects well, but Sarah did a great job explaining things to us and catching inconsistencies. She even got us money back from the property we were renting! Sarah is also a great person and easy to talk to, which makes working with her a joy. We can't recommend Sarah enough!!

Ive known Sarah for quite a few years through the equestrian world, so it was an easy decision to go to her when it was time to buy a new house. She helped us through every step and gave us great advice and insight so we could make the best informed decisions and was very responsive in answering any questions we had. Since the market is pretty competitive these days, Sarah worked her magic to help us get the advantage over other buyers so we secured our forever home against other offers(even higher bids). She gave excellent recommendations for financing, inspections, etc. Then after buying our new home, Sarah guided us through the process of selling our old property (backwards, I know!) Again, we valued her recommendations in staging the home and making the necessary improvements to get the best value out of our home. In result, we received multiple offers over asking price in one weekend on the market! All in all, if I had to buy/sell again I would definitely go with Sarah and I would highly recommend her to anyone I know!
