If you are looking for a great Realtor, I would highly recommend Melanie Chadwell Norris! She has the patience of a saint and was extremely professional and a pleasure to work with. She listened to what my husband and I both wanted and provided us with a nice selection of homes to choose from. She was on time, had all the information for us on each home and helped us negotiate a great price. Best of us all, she was Free! 1) What advice would you give a buyer trying to purchase a home?
To be patient and let us guide you through the process. It can be long and confusing but we can help. Firstly, find a Lender or Loan Officer that you can trust and have him/her pre-approve you to make sure what your comfort zone & budget is before you run out and start looking at homes.
2) What advice would you give a seller trying to sell their home?
My advice to a Seller would be to do a deep cleaning and de-clutter the home before anything else. Then look into painting the whole house on the inside as well as on the outside. Especially, it hasn't been done in more than 7 years. In final, either steam clean or replace the carpets with either new carpet, wood flooring or tile. Nothing comes through better in pictures and in person as walking into a home that was freshly painted and just had the carpets replaced. They may just be the 2 least expensive updates you can do that have the best return and the best positive reactions from prospective Buyers for your money.
3) What types of clients have you worked with?
My team and I work with both Buyers looking to buy a property as well as Selles looking to move and relocate and sell their property. We have helped families from First Time Buyers to beach water condos to high-end multi-million dollars clients sell and purchase new properties, relocate to and from Tampa Bay and more. I have been an active Realtor for almost 17 years in Tampa Bay as has my partner. I was in the new home business before becoming a Realtor. He used to remodel and flip homes. So between the 2 of us, we can spot a great investment or a poor one. Experience counts!
4) Describe a recent transaction you are fond of. How did it go?
One particular transaction required patience and skill as it took almost 2 years to help our high net worth buyers negotiate and close on a $2.2million dollar waterfront estate in St. Petersburg. We stayed in touch with the listing agent, negotiated the best terms we could and the buyers seized the moment and signed the purchase contract ensuring a beautiful home for his family at the price they wanted.
5) How did you get started in Real Estate?
I used to work with my family selling new build homes for years. Then decided to attain my real estate license to help the family. Well, one thing led to another and nearly 17 years later I have traveled to the UK, Washington DC, California and back to help my clients achieve the goals.
6) Do you have any special education or training that will benefit your clients?
My training is indeed unique. I am only one of 10 agents locally and a handful in the country with the professional NAR/ National Assoc of Realtors designations that provide me the knowledge and skills to help my clients when buying or selling their real estate make the best decisions possible. 3 of my designations, the CRS- Certified Residential Specialist, the e-PRO- Internet Real Estate Professional along with the GRI- Graduate of the Realtor Institute, are designations held by less than 3% of all Realtors in the U.S. Providing me with an advantage when it comes to negotiating my way through a difficult transaction, helping ensure my client has the best experience and best outcome possible.
