I have worked with many realtors over the years in different markets and different types of transactions, and I can say comfortably that Mel Bernstein is the top realtor I have ever worked with. We first met him early in our home search at a house he was showing in the Sanford area and he immediately struck us as knowledgeable and honest. He knew all the facts about the house without being overly salesy. When it came time for us to formally engage a realtor for our home/land search, he was our first call.We weren't sure if we wanted to buy land and build a house or buy an existing house. We were also new to the Orlando area. Mel patiently led us through a several month search in which he got us up to speed on the various areas of Orlando as well as the tradeoffs between buying or building. Ultimately, he found our dream piece of land which wasn't even on the market yet, but through his extensive connections, he knew it was coming soon. We got in early and were able to make a quick and successful offer.We then wanted to sell off a piece of the land, so of course we engaged Mel for that. Selling and buying land is very different than selling and buying houses, but Mel seems equally expert in both. Land is hard to price, but Mel advised us on a price that he thought we could get given that we weren't in a rush. We never felt pressured by Mel to lower the price just to close the deal quickly as some realtors might do. Eventually we got the price we wanted. When it was time to close, there were timing issues beyond our control with the County that led to some complications, but Mel found solutions and made the closing happen on time.Over the 18 months we worked with Mel, he was always accessible, friendly, and a great resource for local real estate knowledge. He was a joy to work with and we would highly recommend him to for any type of real estate transaction in the Orlando area.
