About a year before we put our house on the market, Maureen sold our neighbor's house. We caught her over there at an open house and asked if she'd stop by to give us her take on some improvements we were considering. She was generous enough to stop by and give us a practical take on which ideas were good, bad or just plain crazy over-investments.When we did engage her to sell our home, I was struck by several points of value she delivered:1 - Partners: you know all those things you need to do to sell a house like minor carpentry repairs, staging advice, and sewer replacements? - neither did I. Fortunately, Maureen had a great network of folks that were able to do that work for reasonable costs -- countless hours saved on locating and coordinating work with all those people!2 - Process Ownership: while i knew it was a hot market, I was unprepared for the 'attention' that putting your house on the market generates from buyers and their agents. Maureen did and awesome job of picking up and managing all that traffic and letting us continue to live normal lives.3 - Offer Vetting: we received a lot of offers (10+) which was fairly overwhelming. Maureen did a wonderful job of summarizing all the offers and breaking down the relative strength and credibility of each, including vetting the financing and assets of our top offers.
