I became a Realtor to do my best to prevent other people from experiencing my first time home buyer story. As a 22-year-old college graduate, I decided to buy my first home from a for sale by owner seller. This home quickly became a lemon that consumed three years of my life and became nearly a total loss (see "The Money Pit"). If I had worked with a real estate agent, I would not have purchased the home because the agent should have pointed out the problems with the home and the contract. I want to be that agent for my clients. Your home should be a joy in your life, not a nightmare.
