Our home buying experience with Traci Hall of Marti Hampton was great. We had been working with Tracy for over 2 years. She was very patient in communicating and showing us homes until we were ready to buy. Once we were ready she made the process very seamless. From start to finish our first home buying experience was phenomenal.

We would not have listed the house for as much money without their advice and were pleasantly surprised when we sold the home for even more than the listing. I know it is a sellers market but even with the good timing they helped us get more than we thought.

Devon has been the complete professional from listing and taking pictures scheduling showings. Devon explained the selling process. Had a terrible and extremely costly experience working with Devon. My house in Raleigh had an offer of $327k prior to hiring her. When I spoke to her, she was sure she'd be able to get a higher offer than that. I was told she would market the property with professional photographs and host an open house. I would be able to expect multiple offers the day of the open house, likely above my asking price. Sounds good, right?She went out once, referred somebody she knows to do some renovations and landscaping, and then basically did nothing else. This ended up costing me about $40k when all was said and done (about 25ish to the contractors, plus a few weeks of my own time working on the place, unpaid as I had to take off work. So $40k altogether).The work was fine, and the photographs were fine, but she listed the property before the renovations were complete, with the power to the house still off, and never hosted the open house I was promised.So my listing was already on the market for about a week before it was complete, and instead of the multiple offers I was told to expect, I had a few trickle in here and there, all under the price I was originally offered prior to listing with her. So my forty thousand dollar investment was completely wasted, and the house stayed on the market for over a month before I finally decided to terminate the listing agreement.Keep in mind, this is during one of the hottest real estate markets anyone has seen, and I priced my home about $15k below the Zestimate for the property.Throughout the entire process, Devon barely ever called and was extremely uncommunicative. When I called to terminate the listing, she insisted that I owed an additional $800 for 'her time' and all the money they put into 'marketing.'I wasn't pulling the property because I changed my mind about selling, I was firing her because she failed to sell my house. But no flexibility on the eight hundred dollar 'cancellation fee', even though her advice has cost me forty thousand and counting.Then, once the listing was terminated, she removed all of the photographs of the house from the websites it was listed on. I guess my $800 fee doesn't entitle me to keep the photographs I paid for.My advice: avoid her if you're selling your home. I didn't deal with any other agents from the Marti Hampton firm, so I can't speak for the company generally.
