She was born and raised primarily on Travis AFB but was moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming and Destin, Florida before she came back to the Bay Area. Marissa began her real estate career as an agent on the Jimmy Castro Group in Solano County. She has spent 12 years working in sales and customer service and previously pursued a career in radiology. She served as the lead dissector and anatomy consultant at Solano CCC, which she credits for nurturing her strong research driven approach. 1) What advice would you give a buyer trying to purchase a home?
For my buyers that have been pre-approved I ask, "what is your motivation for purchasing?" It is my job to match your expectations with your budget and make sure you don't become "house broke". For my clients that aren't pre-approved I try to make that process easy for them. I provide a simple list of do's and don'ts to help them prepare for a lender and make myself available for any questions they may have. Ultimately, the foundation for long term happiness in your new home is going to be financial health and awareness.
2) What advice would you give a seller trying to sell their home?
For a seller the same question needs to be asked, "what is your motivation for selling your home?" The answer varies for many, it could be a military relocation, upgrading, downgrading, or even money problems. I especially need to know what you think your home is worth so I can appropriately manage your expectations when it comes to price. Coming prepared with neighborhood comps and data is the best way to guide you through this process.
3) What types of clients have you worked with?
I have worked with clients of all kinds, that is the beauty of the Bay Area and living close to Travis AFB. From healthcare professionals, to a Facebook executive assistant, a Vietnam veteran, and everything in between- my clients have been a diverse group of individuals who I've been lucky to form relationships with beyond a real estate transaction.
4) Describe a recent transaction you are fond of. How did it go?
Recently I had the pleasure of helping my clients purchase a home with their grand-daughter who is in her early 20s. When I received them as a lead they had already been beaten up by the competitive market and were tired of dealing with agents who continuously blew them off.
I immediately knew to gain their trust I needed to regularly communicate with them- even if nothing new was happening. They appreciated every bit of contact I made and how I made them feel important despite their tight budget. I prioritized the comfort and safety of their grand daughter and wanted to be sure that whatever they purchased would be a smart, long term investment.
