We were so lucky to have Lori Benkert by our side throughout the journey of finding our perfect first house. We honestly don't know how we would have done it without her. While we were on the mainland, she found us an amazing short-term rental that would allow our Rottweiler - an almost impossible feat even if we were on-island. Then, Lori got us a free upgrade on our rental from the bottom unit to the larger and nicer upstairs.All while being an amazing landlord, she helped lead us on the journey to find our perfect first house (which we like so much, we may call home for a very very long time:) And, it was a long ardous journey, which we would have been unable to successfully navigate without her. She was always researching, negotiating, and fighting on our behalf. For 5 months, we were in constant contact via phone, email, text, and meeting in person. Lori valued our time and arrived early to every appointment.Once we finally found the right house, Lori negotiated very succesful on multiple ocassions for us, despite the house technically being an "as is" sale. She got the seller to tent the house for termites, pump the septic, repair the floor, buy new gfi outlets, buy a new hot water heater, and include their BBQ grill and two sets of washer/dryers (even though one set was their former tenants') in the sale. Again, she negotiated all this in an as is sale!At the closing, Lori brought us champagne and fresh orchid leis. Thank you, Lori!

Lori was a dream to work with! Buying a home is so stressful, and in our case, we were selling our mainland home and buying one on Kauai at the same time. Lori was on top of everything every step of the way, and her communication and follow-up skills are topnotch. Lori was the perfect agent for us. We were looking at a wide range of properties in a variety of locations so she was driving all over the place to show us houses. Her knowledge of the island and the market was invaluable and she was always easy to reach and very responsive when we were in a rush to see a place. The house we ended up buying required a lot of negotiating and she always steered us right as we worked through the process. However, the negotiations didn't end once the sellers accepted our bid. A departing tenant vandalized the house while it was in escrow and we then had to work with the seller to come to an agreement over how the repairs would be handled. It was stressful, but Lori did an amazing job of making sure the seller addressed all of our concerns. This was a complicated transaction and Lori really earned every penny of her commission. I would highly recommend her .
