I called Lisa Wilkins yesterday to ask if shed make an offer for me on a house I loved. So she went and took a video and said she sent me an email that said signing invitation aEURoeofferaEUR? , even listing the signing name as offer on the email. I signed it quickly believing her that I was signing an offer. I didnt even look further because she said its not binding unless they accept it. I know I'm an adult and should have read through everything but I had no idea she was going to do what she did and send other non offer documents for me to sign. So not knowing yet what she had done with the documents, this morning she gave me their counter offer, and said they want an inspect in 5 days I had cash so wasnt worried about closing fast but said I want to list 14 days for due diligence and Id do the inspects in 5 days or less if I can get well, septic and house inspectors to come that fast. Also I held firm on my offer which was not much less than asking. She said shes the number one realtor around here and I'm telling you theyre going to get a better offer this week end if you dont offer more, and she sent me her inspectors schedule I assume thinking Id use him, he also she said does septic and isnt a well person but she said will test the water, trying hard to make me do what she wanted, offer more, use her inspector despite he isnt a well inspector which was not something Id compromise on and forgo. She was laughing at me when I said 5 days may be too fast to get the inspections, and laughing that I wouldnt come up in my offer because she said she knew theyd get a better offer that week end despite the last open house they didnt get one. Okay I told her forget it, I'm not going to be abused or strong armed just because ( at least in her words) shes the number one real estate agent in the area and knows what shes taking aboutaEUR? It was then after recusing myself that I looked at the document I signed and realized just how dishonest and deceitful shed been, She clearly what I was signing as well as the email said was to make an offer, as well as headlined it offer. Outrageously, despite never finding me a house, ( I found it and came to her to ask her to present an offer for me) nor had she asked to help me in the future, but what she did, deceitfully, on an email entitled aEURoe offeraEUR? , sent also slipped in documents locking me into an exclusive buyer with her for 6 months ! I think she is beyond dishonest and what she did was disgusting, Watch what you sign If she can do that to me, then I assume the broker allows them to do things like this .
