As a resident of Northern Virginia for over 40 years, I have seen the Route 50 corridor grow from horse farms & country stores to major shopping centers, office parks & master-planned communities. While attending George Mason University & working in a local pizza shop, I met Margaret Whiston, who ran a floral business in Vienna, Virginia, she became my mentor. I knew I wanted to own my own business & I always appreciated the art of gardening & arranging flowers. My business was soon launched & I concentrated on weddings & high-end corporate accounts in Washington, D.C. While running that company for 21 years, I learned the importance of consistency, customer satisfaction, great service & referrals. While I was in the floral business, I also initiated a 501C3 organization to give back to my local community. The Stone Ridge 5K Race for Education was born out of the desire to bring together all of the different communities along the Route 50 corridor that make up the Loudoun County area known as Dulles South. In an effort to fund the academic and athletic needs of new schools most affected by the growth throughout Dulles South, I created a 5K Race & 1K Fun Run to raise money. From 2005-2016, the race donated over $250,000 to the local schools. With the race in high gear, I was approached by a number of home builders in the area about coming to work for them in sales. Since I have a huge interest in remodeling, construction, redesign & buying real estate for investment, I thought it sounded liked a perfect opportunity. After working alongside some of the most respected builders in the nation for four years, I developed a deep knowledge base that assists my clients with choosing the right home for them. From choosing the best home site, structural options, keeping to a budget for a nicely appointed home inside and out, to understanding easements and setting expectations on all the different appointments along the way that need to be kept. Having been the Sales Manager in new construction, I know what it is like to sit on the other side of the table & I know how the process works. I believe this is an advantage over other Real Estate agents that do not have this background. A little secret you may not know! The local builders pay the Realtors commissions, those fees do not get passed on to the buyer if they come in to buy a home unrepresented by an agent.
