Read on for more details...Lindsey served as our buyer's agent in our move from the midwest to Florida. We were particularly looking to live in a golf community. We didn't even realize that someone would specialize in such a thing but found Lindsey after talking to a couple of different course/country club managers. Lindsey grew up in the area and knows an incredible amount of details about towns, neighborhoods, and then the golf courses within. The few things she didn't know she knew how to find and got right to the work of getting answers.Trying to find a home long distance can be harrowing. At first I was flying out on weekends to look, only to realize that what I saw in pictures wasn't what I was hoping for in real life. Lindsey had been suggesting for weeks that she go to the homes and show it to me through a live video call and help narrow down the trips only to real contenders. It was a little hard for me to trust that things I would consider problematic would be noticed by someone else so I was hesitant, but the trips were wasting huge amounts of time and money. What I found was that if I communicated well, Lindsey had no problems showing me the good, the bad, and the ugly parts of the homes we were looking at. When we physically came out to see the final few there were no surprises. That was a lot of work on her part given how fast the market moved but she did it well and willingly.Regarding negotiating: Lindsey is a super nice person and when we got to $ and timing and all the things that go into a contract and post inspection wrangling, I was pleasantly surprised at her business-like demeanor with the seller and her knowledge of what has been realistic and working in this market and what has not. I bought at a time of a total "Sellers market", yet was able to get what I think was a fair price (and for sure less than I was thinking I would have to pay) and also got some good advice and a very fair compromise on post-inspection issues. I most likely would have thousands less right now if not for her strategy and real work at the negotiating table.The last thing I would add is that Lindsey knows a lot of people who you might need in connection with a real estate deal: lenders, lawyers, painters, pool maintenance, pest inspection, home inspection, contractors, etc. I called some I got from her and used some from other recommendations. Lyndsey was supportive regardless and none of my decisions had any bearing on our working together.I was hesitant about being shown the "real" home from a distance, I was hesitant someone would negotiate for my hard-earned and long-saved money like I would. But I was pleasantly surprised and would take Lindsey's help again if I buy another house: this time with no hesitation.
