Leigh Smith represented me in the purchasing of a home, though he then wanted to hold it against me for putting my health and safety first, when it came to my withdrawing the offer after finding out it was not a safe location for me. He knew that I am disabled too. Leigh very likely knew of the reasons for which I withdrew my offer, prior to having even put the offer in. That being a large business that recently opened up a new factory near the home, after having prior Federal violations for dangerous contamination of hazardous chemicals elsewhere in the state. When asked, he had no comment. Leigh's long time expertise in the area surely would have exposed him to this knowledge, and I think he did not want to admit to that. So, instead he acted like I wasted his time. Rather rudly, to be honest. I had apologized for not finding said information sooner, myself, as if it was something that mattered given the nature of the findings. Hard to believe that this is the state of both business today, but it is. Such behavior is not deserving of a five star rating, and let this be a testament to that. I did not want to write this review, but feel that it is necessary given how Leigh chose to handle such circumstances. There should be a higher level of standards practiced here, and respect for the buyer, and instead there was not. This is about the health and safety of people's investments, and that is a matter that should not be taken lightly; nor be put second to that of profit.

Finally came to the realization that the time was now to purchase my own place in Aroostook county and the first place I looked at Leigh had it on. Made a call, set up an appointment and was disappointed... with the property! Asked Leigh if he had some time to show me more properties the next day and he said he could make the time! He went home, emailed me a bunch of listings, and then followed up as we went through them. With everything being 400 miles away from my main residence in MA I didnt have a lot of time to waste. Leigh was amazing with his listening and helping to narrow down the properties. I narrowed it down to just 2 easily. Then I picked one, made an offer, quick counter, I countered and we closed. Leigh has the tools and connections to make tour buying experience smooth and painless. His connections with local services and whos who is essential when you are not local or even if you are local (he knows everyone it seems). If/when I am ready for another house or a different house Leigh is the only one I will deal with in Northern Maine.
