I am very fortunate to have met Laura Leigh Wood, and her colleague, Rachel Frankenberry at RE/MAX Town and Country Realty as my sisters and I were going through the process of selling my mothers house after she had passed. I knew of the two of them because I had seen for sale signs with Laura Leighs name on them in the neighborhood over the years.As you can imagine, this was a very difficult and emotional time for us. My mother had lived in that house for 37 years. All of the kids live out of town, so we needed a first class Realtor to make things go smoothly. Laura Leigh and her team had all of the resources in place to make that possible. Much to all of our surprise, when she had HER inspector come look at the house before we put it on the market we discovered we had a crack in the foundation. This had to be fixed before we could put the property on the market. Laura Leigh and Rachel then went the extra mile to help us identify vendors who could do the repair work, they managed us through the permitting process and oversight of the contractors. All of this is above and beyond what you can expect in a typical real estate deal. Simply stated, without their help, this process would have been much more problematic for my sisters and me. Once we had made the necessary repairs team Laura Leigh went to work to get the house ready for showing. She staged the house; rearranging how my mother had the house set up, identifying things that we should remove from the house in order to help people visualize the house differently, and then she brought in her own items to help stage the house. Again, above and beyond the call of duty.Finally, the house is ready to sell. Within a week Laura Leigh had gotten us four offers on the house. She helped us negotiate a very favorable deal, and it was closed within three weeks. I am a licensed Realtor myself, and I have never seen someone go to the effort that Laura Leigh and Rachel went to for their client. Simply stated, we are huge fans.
