About LaTasha Jordan Simms

Helping people is my passion, real estate is my obsession. Hi! My name is LaTasha (although professionally I prefer Jordan) and my obsession with real estate began around the early-90's, possibly even earlier than that. You see, I have an aunt named Debbie, and my aunt Debbie is REALLY good at a lot of things, ESPECIALLY: 1. interior design, 2. singing, and 3. cooking. I think maybe even in that order to me because her home ALWAYS looked like it should belong inside the pages of Architectural Digest. Spending time at her house, with her and my cousins, were some of the best times of my life growing up. Over time, my obsession with interior design turned into a general curiosity in homes overall. Who built them? How much did they cost? What are those windows on the roof called? ETC! Riding in cars as a kid, one of my favorite things to do was peek into homes that had their blinds or curtains open as we passed by, to check out how their home was decorated - which is actually something I STILL love to do to this day. Fast forward to 2010, I failed my real estate exam on the first try, felt discouraged, and thought perhaps I wasn't cut out for the industry. My desire to become an agent never quavered. In 2019, when I was fired from a company that I should've quit in 2016 - and then we went through 2020 - I KNEW it was time for me to get back to my obsession. It was at that time that I realized passing the test wasn't the "ultimate goal" that I made it out to be back in 2010. (It took me four attempts to pass the exam this time!) This time I knew passing the test was just an obstacle and its own test of my level of investment, to make sure that I was ALL IN. Because let's face it, it's way easier to talk yourself OUT of something then it is to talk yourself IN to something. The ultimate goal is really to become an expert in my niche of helping people find their windows, with blinds or curtains to leave open, so passersby like myself can quickly peak and see why the owners fell in love with that home too.
