Community Involvement

I have a long history of volunteering in the helping fields. In my younger years I served as a resident member of the Utah County Housing Authority Board. I have also participated in service building community gardens, organizing local events, fundraising, teaching, and working with people who are navigating recovery efforts as they re-enter society from jails, prisons, and treatment facilities.

Hobbies/Interest

Being in nature is an integral part of my life. I enjoy learning and creating art both on my own and with others. Helping people become successful in their life endeavors is always a point of satisfaction for me. From the beach, to forests, mountains and deserts--that is where I find the most peace, and if family and friends join that makes it all the better!

Family

I am fortunate to have family residing in different states. This is one of the reasons I earned and maintain my real estate license in Oregon as well as Utah. I can continue my work helping people with real estate needs while also being close to my kiddos! Yep, I have more than one and they are all incredible humans.

1) What advice would you give a buyer trying to purchase a home?

It is critical to work with an agent who represents YOU! A good agent listens to your needs, responds to your calls and questions. Hiring an agent who will negotiate on your behalf with home sellers (and their representatives), an agent who cares about your success and needs, answers your calls and text messages, and can refer you to other experts as needed is critical. Choose a real estate professional you trust to protect your interests, rights, and inform you of your responsibilities as they walk with you through every aspect of the buying process. In preparing yourself for a search I am a firm believer in the importance of taking good care of your credit with the guidance of a trusted and experienced lender. If you need a referral for a good one, I can help with that! Having a pre-approval letter is going to give you an advantage, especially in competitive markets!

2) What advice would you give a seller trying to sell their home?

Same as a buying agent, it is critical to work with an agent who represents YOU! A good agent listens to your needs, responds to your calls and questions. Hiring an agent who will negotiate on your behalf with buyers (and their representatives), an agent who cares about your success and needs, answers your calls and text messages, and can refer you to other experts as needed is critical. Choose a real estate professional you trust to protect your interests, rights, and inform you of your responsibilities as they walk with you through every aspect of the listing process. Ask them about fees, and any discounts they may offer as you list with them. Ask plenty of questions about marketing advantages they can provide for you. Will they hire a professional photographer, assist with staging, generate virtual tours? Can they provide you with some references from past clients? Not everyone takes time to provide online feedback but they are happy to talk with you about their experience of their agent when they listed their home with them.

3) What types of clients have you worked with?

All types :-) I enjoy helping people and learning with each transaction.

4) Describe a recent transaction you are fond of. How did it go?

I helped a family purchase their first home for a great price just in time to be there for Christmas! I work in areas where homes are still very affordable for average people looking to stop renting and finally invest in growing their own wealth.

5) How did you get started in Real Estate?

I wanted to be self-governing in a career that is relationship centered and serves people. In 2019 I took the plunge and left my former full time employment in order to put all of my energy into a real estate career.

6) Do you have any special education or training that will benefit your clients?

I have worked in helping professions my entire life. Education experience in multi-faceted, but connected, areas of study including, but not limited to social-psychology, marketing, communication, research, anthropology, outdoor recreation, conflict resolution, mediation and negotiation, and various professions. In my formal jobs I have been a treatment counselor and case manager, an educator, teacher, professor and academic advisor, program manager, coach, service agent, probation provider, peer and team leader. I have a Master's Degree from Eastern Mennonite University in Conflict Studies such as mediation, negotiation, resolution, community organizing, restorative justice, and healthy organizations.
