I had a terrible experience! First, my realtor seemed to do only the minimum to get my house sold i.e., having only a few open houses and some of those had other agents there because she had other plans. My home went on the market then about two months later her only suggestion was to lower the price, which I did lower the price to its appraised value and still nothing. I thought maybe we could add virtual staging on the sites to make it more attractive, she agreed but told me that I would have to pay for that! The advertisement write-up regarding the square footage has been incorrect from the beginning. I brought this to her attention and she said "That is what the city has on record and there is nothing I can do about it!" I made one call to the County Assessor's office, gave him the information he needed to make the correction, and the correction was made right then. Why am I doing this? Isn't this the job of the agent? She told me I was tying her hands by not doing what she said. She stated, "It is in the contract that I have to do what she says concerning the property." I asked her to show me in the contract where that was stated, of course she could not because It's not there!! We were not seeing eye to eye on the way this sale was going, so we both agreed it was pointless to go around in circles about the same things and we should terminate our agreement. A few days later she came back and said she wanted to be reimbursed for the money she had put out and once that was done she would cancel the contract. I asked her how much she had spent and she told me $500. I told her that I would reimburse her up to $500 as long as she sent me the receipts/invoices. After not receiving this information for three weeks, I contacted her broker, explained the situation and our agreed upon resolution. The broker said there would be no problem with the cancellation and then she acknowledged the realtor would not get paid until she presented receipts/invoices. During this time, I was trying to contact the realtor but she stopped answering my calls. She finally answered once she found out I spoke with her broker. By this time, I am in the fourth week of waiting. She (realtor) called me and said that it was not fair to her that I am not giving her the opportunity to sell the house and asked for more time. I called the broker, who at first had no problem with our initial arrangement, but she suddenly had a change of heart and sided with the realtor. I was strung along for a month. Not keeping your word is bad for business. They made an agreement with me that they never had any intention of keeping. I was definitely misled to say the least! TRUST ME, FIND SOMEONE ELSE. You do not want to work with someone with questionable ethics
