About Kelley Blackburn
At a young age of 16, Kelley's first job was working in a Real Estate Office. Today, you can read my high school yearbook with the future goal to become a Real Estate Broker. After high school, Kelley opened a Permit Service business in Tampa, Florida serving general contractors and local builders, by obtaining permits in record time. Later, at the age of 21 she joined B & M Construction/MDM Engineering. They served some of the most recognized oil companies in the nation, MOBIL OIL, CHEVERON, EXXON, AMOCO, SHELL, TEXACO to name a few. Her responsibility was to coordinate with the real estate department and organize which projects could be permitted and built in the fastest timeframe possible. This was a one stop shop which allowed the oil companies to open stores in record timing and to start pumping gas. Her experience has allowed her to understand the most critical milestone when developing commercial property. She traveled the state of Florida creating lasting relationships with all cities, county and state agencies. Now, second generation Real Estate Broker, Kelley is passionate about what she does and truly loves working with all types of Real Estate Transactions. Since we have been in business for 43 years, we love working with all aspects of the real estate industry. Residential, Commercial and Vacant Land.
4) Describe a recent transaction you are fond of. How did it go?
I will always remember this transaction, as it was the most difficult closing I have ever been apart of. We had to think out the box to locate a soon to be homeless X husband to sign closing documents. That task in is self was extremely difficult, but we pushed forward and made it happen.
5) How did you get started in Real Estate?
My first job was at a real estate office. My mother (mentor and broker) started her career in Real Estate in 1980, when interest rates were 18-20%. She was a million dollar producer at that time in a very small town, when the average sales price was $30k. You can read my yearbook that says one day I wanted to be a REALTOR.
6) Do you have any special education or training that will benefit your clients?
Education is ongoing as I always want to be on the cutting edge of the industry. Markets change so often I always want to sharpen my skills. Certified Residential Specialist are the top 3% in the nation, this was the first designation I earned.
