We met Ken & Kathy Mason (The Mason Team) several years ago when we began looking for a retirement home on Lake Murray in South Carolina. Initially we were a long way from making a purchase and were just gathering information on the lake and surrounding areas. The Masons started showing us homes on the lake in the spring of 2016. Even though we were not local, they kept us informed of every home being offered in our price range through their online collaboration center website. When we were able to visit the lake, Ken and Kathy always made time to set up as many homes as we wanted to see. They never imposed any pressure to buy, they just kept it friendly and kept showing us more homes. They have lived on the lake for many years and had great advice and answers to the many questions we asked. The Mason Team is unique in that they not only bring a deep understanding of local real estate, but Ken also has a building/construction background that was extremely helpful.In December 2018, we found a home and made our first offer--it was on a house for sale by owner. The offer was rejected and the negotiations broke down. We would have lost the house if it were not for the The Mason Team. Kathy worked hard to educate the seller on how our offer was created; she provided the seller with comps that were based on other comparable selling prices and not the aEURoeaskingaEUR? prices that the seller was referencing. With patience and persistence, Kathy negotiated a price that we could all agree on and the sale was made. Without the experience and persistence of the Masons, the sale would have most likely been lost. Since the sale, we have continued to receive support and assistance from Ken and Kathy. We relied heavily on them through the contracting and closing process. They helped us with the home inspections, negotiation of repairable items, contact with local utilities, the lake authority, appraisals and eventually the closing. If anyone is looking for realtor in the Lake Murray area, we would highly recommend The Mason Team. They were friendly, knowledgeable and always professional. The Mason Team helped us find the home we were hoping to find when we were ready.
