My husband and I entered the home buying process wondering if we could even find a home in the ultra-competitive Bay Area housing market. Luckily, we were referred to the Bedbury Group and now truly believe that with Bob and Kat Bedbury, any of your home buying dreams are possible. After our interview with Kat, we just felt that her confidence, her emphasis on the importance of relationship building, and her morals fit with what we wanted in our realtors. She didn't pull any punches...she said that when you find your home we will win it for you. She was right!We used to think buying a house was just about having a strong offer. While that is partly true, we learned that there's an art to a purchase and the magic is with your realtor. Like most prospective home buyers, we struggled in the beginning to find a home that we liked. Bob took us to see several homes that on paper fit our criteria, but in reality fell short. Not once did we feel any pressure to settle, or put in an offer on a home that we were not 100% excited about winning. Then one Friday afternoon my husband came across our house and said, "I think I just found our home!"The home in San Mateo had not been on the market for more than 30 minutes, yet we were inside viewing the property by 10am the next morning. We instantly fell in love, and knew that this was the place for us. Based on the market we were in, we knew that making this our home would be no easy feat. Thankfully, we had the Bedbury's on our side. Every step of the way we kept being pleasantly surprised by how easy the process continued to be. A lot of this had to do with Kat and Bob's knowledge of the market and their innate ability to build relationships, as well as their incredible work ethic and responsiveness.When the sellers initially waited nearly two weeks before taking offers, Bob was there continuously talking to their realtor and building that relationship. When we had questions about the inspection report, Kat took an hour out of her day to walk through every section of the report (and there were a lot of sections) to make sure we were comfortable with everything the inspector found. When it came to the offer, Bob used his knowledge and expertise to win us our home in a multi-offer situation! Between BobKat, their amazing internal team, and their referrals to an incredible mortgage banker and escrow officer, we had the smoothest home buying process we had ever seen or heard of. We sometimes forgot we were even buying a home. It really felt that easy, and that was because of the wonderful team and relationships the Bedbury Group have in the industry!When that wonderful day came and we were handed the keys to our dream home, we were elated. In most cases, this is the day most people lose contact with their realtors. Their job is done. This was not the case with the Bedbury's. Team Bedbury made sure we had food delivered to the house the day we moved in...knowing that the last thing we would want to do that day was cook. When we need a referral for anything to do with the house, we know we can count on them to know the best people. With the Bedbury's, you don't just have realtors for life you also have friends for life!From the very first meeting with us, Kat continued to tell us, "Your dreams, non-negotiable." And they are serious! What makes them so good is their deep care for their clients and their clients' needs. We are so grateful to have met the Bedbury's, not just because they helped us win our dream home, but because they are just genuinely good people. My partner and I purchased our first home with Michelle Kennedy of the Bedbury group in September 2020. We met Michelle via a friend referral in 2019. We reconnected to kick off our 2020 house hunt. Michelle has a lot of good energy. She really listened to feedback and didn't flood us with irrelevant listings like other agents had. She was always on top of the 50 things simultaneously going on for the deal. She was never late and very accommodating to our strict housing requirements during the hunt itself. Bob Bedbury brought some great experience and perspective to the table on the deal, his charismatic long form emails really helped calm my wife and I down multiple times during the process. He helped establish the direct line of communication with the sellers agent too.Michell and Bob Bedbury fought tooth and nail to get us a home for under ask - $100k under the final list price. Their diligence and personable communication really helped to convince the the sellers to come down in price. They also didn't balk as we continued to bid on this house over the course of two months.The first night we spent in our new home, one of our cats tragically had a stroke and passed. I had informed Michelle and the Bedbury group of this news, and the next day they had sent us a very sweet condolence gift of daisy flowers to honor our cat Daisy. That personal touch really meant a lot to us during this already difficult transition from a 1 bed apartment to a lonely 4 bed house.
