Kate Paddon has been a full-time resident of Provincetown since 2015 and fell in love with the Outer Cape during her first visit in 1988. Before settling in Provincetown, Kate and her husband, Ray, owned a cottage at Corn Hill Beach in Truro. This retreat was not just a home base, but a cherished launching pad for countless summer adventures shared with their four beloved boys, a time treasured by the entire family. With a background in social services in Northwestern Connecticut, including roles at Planned Parenthood and a women's crisis center, Kate transitioned to real estate, drawn by her own positive experiences as a homebuyer and seller. Known for her attentive client approach, Kate aims to reduce stress and manage every aspect of the buying or selling process. As a valued member of The Holmes Group, Kate contributes to a team that has collectively overseen 396 transactions, amounting to $292,990,325 in sales volume since 2013. With a wealth of experience on the Outer Cape, The Holmes Group is known for its expertise in the local market. Outside of work, Kate enjoys gardening, hiking, and reading, but her true passion lies in running. A former elite athlete, Kate has earned numerous accolades, including a USATF National Master's Championship in Cross Country. Though no longer competing, Kate still relishes long runs through the National Seashore trails with her husband and walking the beach with her dog, Rio. Family
Kate and her husband Ray blended their families in 2002, raising their four boys together in one very busy home. She now has enjoys two fabulous grandchildren thanks to her stepdaughter in Newtown CT.

1) What advice would you give a buyer trying to purchase a home?
Know your price range by speaking with a lender prior to getting serious with your search. It will save you time and arm you with important information.
Also, choose a Realtor you trust and communicate well with. The process of purchasing a home can be a stressful one, and it's important to have a good working relationship with your agent.
2) What advice would you give a seller trying to sell their home?
Find a Realtor that has experience and a solid record of sales in your area. Find someone you relate to well and strikes you as honest and trustworthy. Ask their advice on what can be done to improve the appeal of your home for buyers.
Try not to listen to your neighbors or relatives regarding the pricing if they are not local agents! You as the seller set the price, but the advice of your listing agent should be a good guide.
3) What types of clients have you worked with?
I've been lucky to have a broad range of buyers! From late 20s late 70s in age. Most of my buyers and sellers are seeking or selling second homes out here, although I've had numerous local clients as well. I've had people from all over the US and a few from Europe. Each new client brings something unique, and I love that about my job. It is never dull!
4) Describe a recent transaction you are fond of. How did it go?
Most recently I was able to situate a young local couple in a single family home in Truro. They were super excited, and such a pleasure to work with. It gives me enormous satisfaction to help people find their way to "their place."
5) How did you get started in Real Estate?
I have always loved looking at houses, and back in the day, scanning the paper for listings. My husband and I often used to visit open houses while on vacation, and always enjoyed talking with the agents about the local market. It was a natural fit for me to make a profession of itl
