"Making Charlotte ... Home!" I'm sick of the generic, boring Charlotte Real Estate Agent Bios and I bet you are too! I Love, LOVE the Charlotte Area and living in the South! (Hey Y'all!). I'm passionate about helping people discover the Charlotte region, find the area and the home of their dreams, and "put down roots"! I'm not boring or generic, and I want to give you what you want - real answers to real questions to get to know me and see if I'm the right choice for you! Where are you from? I was born in Orange, California (don't hold it against me) but I've lived in the Charlotte area since I was 6 years old. I've lived in the Charlotte area for over 40 years!! So, I'm not quite a native, but about as close as you can get and I LOVE living in the Charlotte area and am a huge proponent of it and all it has to offer!! So, have you always done Real Estate? Lord No! I have a Civil Engineering degree and worked in that field for about 15 years before I started in Real Estate! Can you help me/us? Probably, but we should chat. I need to understand your goals, objectives, and timelines. What do you do outside of work? Where to you work and how close do you want to live to it? Those are just a few of the questions I'll ask to understand you and your specific requirements! If I'm not the right agent for you, I'll let you know and help you find them! Also, with an Engineering background I'm no-drama, honest, and friendly. If you're looking for rainbows, glitter, unicorns, I'm probably not the guy for you! If you want professionalism, clear communication, and someone who keeps a 'handle' on every aspect of your transaction so you can enjoy it, stress-free - we need to talk! Will you return my calls? Yes, absolutely. Statistics show one of the biggest frustrations from clients is their agent won't return calls. I will! If I'm with a client, I do NOT check my phone... and when I'm with you I extend the same courtesy. If I don't respond to you immediately, it means I'm with someone and I'll get back ASAP! Where do you live and why? "Techinically" I'm in Charlotte, but just outside of the Matthews City Limits, but consider Matthews "Home". We moved here because we realized that we worked here, we ate here, and during our downtimes we played here.... and decided to make it "Home"! Why did you choose to work with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage? CBRB is a high energy, high integrity group of ethical real estate professionals. I did an extensive search, and I truly believe Coldwell Banker offers the best technology/reach/communication for clients and the best marketing 'punch' for Sellers of any company I looked at! Add on top of what the Leader in Real Estate offers, and you get the Patrick Difference! What types of things do you do in your downtime? I'm a Nerd with a capital "N", and my wife has a Masters Degree in Chemistry. We enjoy watching TV, specifically multiple British murder mysteries, GoT, and various other shows like The Rookie, home improvement shows like Flip or Flop, and I'm obsessed with with almost anything Marvel. We also have fun with math and it's not uncommon for us to be cracking math jokes while preparing dinner. Yeah, we're nerds. :) I've been on the board of my HOA and involved with our Church! Oh, I love mountain biking. What's your household makeup? Wife, 2 sons, 2 step-sons, 2 cats, and 2 dogs. Yeah, a bit like Noah! Favorite place to eat in Matthews? Oh, so many! It's a bit of a joke with clients that I tend to give directions based on restaurants! Stacks is a great breakfast place. Bojangles if your dietary restrictions allow fried chicken! Mr Tokyo for your sushi cravings or Umami for hibachi! What are 3 things you want to accomplish in the next 3 years? 1. Help many more people discover Charlotte and Make Charlotte... Home! 2. We want to build our retirement plan and want to purchase at least 3 rental properties. 3. Get far better at balancing work-life and strengthen relationships with friends & family. We have been buying and selling residential and commercial property for the last 45 years, some to live in, some for investment. We didn't know any realtors in the Charlotte area, and Jon came highly recommended. He turned out to be the most responsive and knowledgeable agent that we have ever dealt with. This was the first property that we had ever purchased in Charlotte; we live in Colorado we didn't travel for the negotiation and closing. Jon is a wonderful realtor! He worked so hard helping me buy my first home in this crazy housing market. Jon is a genuinely nice and caring person. He is always one text away with any question that I may have had. If it was something that needed a bit more explanation he would give me a call immediately! I am relocating to Charlotte from the NYC metropolitan area, and due to the distance and the pandemic, my house-hunting was entirely done remotely. As part of my research on Charlotte real estate, I watched several Charlotte-based realtors YouTube videos, including Jons. I ended up calling Jon because he seemed both knowledgeable and pleasant to work with, and it turned out I was 100% correct on both counts.Jons integrity is exemplary, and he consistently put my interests above his own. For example, there were several houses I was initially interested in (including ones that were more expensive than the house I ended up buying) with flaws which were not readily apparent from the web listings that he pointed out, based on his professional expertise and additional research into the properties. While he provided a plethora of information, including lists of attorneys and other service providers, he also always encouraged me to do my own due diligence.Jon was instrumental in crafting a winning offer on a house in a competitive market, guiding me through the process to determine the offer price that I was comfortable with, as well as utilizing strategies to make my offer - outside of sales price - stronger. He stayed in constant contact every step of the way, keeping me informed of what needed to be done when, and helping ensure that everything went smoothly as possible. Nothing ever fell through the cracks. He shot detailed walkthrough videos for me (including right before closing) which helped me make my decision and set my mind at ease about the condition of my home, in addition to coordinating inspections, surveys, etc. Thanks to him, my closing was both smooth and on time. If you are looking for a realtor who tramples over your boundaries or spins stories made of unicorn horns and angel dust, then Jon is *not* the realtor for you. On the other hand, if you are looking for someone who is professional, organized, detail-oriented, responsive, and kind, who will walk with you through the entire process, I cannot recommend Jon enough.

I could not recommend Jon enough as a realtor. Everyone has certain values they want in a realtor, ours was somone we could trust to be open, honest and straightforward about the process which is exactly what we got in Jon. He answered every question we had, was easy to get ahold of and got us a great price on our new house and selling our current home. Providing us with current market data helped know we were getting a good deal on both ends of the transaction.
