We would like to share our positive experience in working with our realtor, John Young, who managed the sale of our home, which was finalized in September 2022. From the moment we met John, we were impressed by his professional demeanor and his in-depth knowledge of all aspects of the fluctuating real estate market. Johns approach is highly ethical and collaborative. We liked that John is very active in industry associations and teaching, bringing the latest knowledge to our sale. He consulted with colleagues about various marketing aspects and, in negotiations with the buyers agents, strove for and achieved win-win solutions. John advised us regarding the preparation of our home, which required a great deal of cosmetic upgrading. We were, at first, reluctant to invest much capital, but John explained to us in detail, how the upgrades would greatly enhance the marketability of our home. Once we signed on with John, he got to work hiring the plumber, electrician, landscaper and other tradespeople to perform the necessary work under his guidance. John was also a hands-on dynamo. He took the time to choose attractive and functional appliances as well as lighting and plumbing fixtures, all while getting budget-friendly value for our investment.John developed the homes color scheme and even planned the directional focus of the recessed lighting to optimize work spaces in the kitchen. John paid in advance for the parts and labor, kept track of all the expenses and provided us with invoices prior to settlement. We invested approximately $30,000 and are convinced that we received a return of 2 times to 3 times that amount in terms of the higher price our home sold for, as well as a much quicker and smoother sale. John planned the staging, timing, and marketing of our home. It immediately received a lot of interest and in less than a week we received viable offers. John was able to assess the relative strengths and risks of each offer. With his extensive contacts and persuasive skills he managed to steer the buyer to competent lenders and settlement agents that got their functions done on time without glitches. John was in contact with us several times a week during the renovation and sales processes to discuss progress and support us in our decision making. The more we worked with John the more we trusted him, and half way through the process we trusted him completely and asked him to do what he thought best. Even after that he continued to consult with us on all aspects of the renovation, sale, and closure. John is a highly skilled negotiator and handled last minute problems that developed to get the deal closed. We have John Young to thank for the great outcome and highly recommend him based on our very positive experience.

John and his partner Jeff helped us close on a house in the middle of a crazy market. We were new homebuyers so we had a lot of questions, and John answered our questions and had recommendations for every step of the process. We were able to move at our own pace without feeling rushed or pushed to make an offer, and we were always advised about expected prices for a property along with problems or repairs that would be needed. When we found a property that seemed to check all our boxes, we were able to visit and put in an offer just 2-3 days after listing (based on John's recommendation). The offer was accepted in addition to some electrical and sewage work that came up as issues during inspections.
