John Kelly has been our realtor for years. He helped us facilitate the process of selling our former home and purchasing a short sale home in 2011. We were so happy with his boutique-level of service that we asked him to help us buy and sell again during 2020-2021, the height of COVID. Though COVID brought some challenges, he easily helped us navigate the process by recommending painters and contractors to get our house on the market quickly. 1) What advice would you give a buyer trying to purchase a home?

Get pre-qualified with a lender/loan officer first before starting your search, that way you will know what price range you need to stay in. Looking at properties out of your price range are easy to fall in love with and it's very frustrating when you find out you don't qualify to purchase those, that's why I always recommend to buyers to get pre-qualified first. It also helps me know what price range to keep you in and show you those homes.

2) What advice would you give a seller trying to sell their home?

One of the first things sellers should do is de-clutter the home, make any obvious repairs, paint/touch up interior & exterior, spruce up landscaping. I tell my sellers to start to look at their home like they are the buyers so they will see things that need to be done and address those items. I also recommend getting the home pre-inspected or looked at by a contractor so that will take away any unforeseen repair surprises that could stop the transaction from closing.

3) What types of clients have you worked with?

I have and continue to work with all types of clients, from first time buyers, to seasoned investors, downsizing clients, repeat clients on their 3rd & 4th homes now.
