My wife and I were looking for an investment property in Warrenton, and our daughter recommended John. In a turbulent market (rising mortgage interest rates, tail end of a housing boom) John's estimate of the current value of the home was spot on, and he negotiated a price 7% below the asking price. In addition, he lined up 3 mortgage brokers (we went with Paul Klinger at UVACCU), a great home inspector, and a termite inspector. John managed the entire process from Virginia while my wife and I were traveling in the U.S. and abroad, and there was not a single hiccup, even though neither my wife nor I had seen the property in person, and neither of us had to be present to sign documents.We were always separated from John by several time zones, but he responded to texts, emails, and phone calls within minutes (even when he was on a family vacation). The information he provided was always timely, accurate, and complete.As a buyer's agent we felt that John always had our best interests at heart, and there was never any pressure to buy any particular property.John is a true professional who earned our trust and gratitude.

In 2013, my wife and I bought our first home. The realtor basically opened the door for a showing when it was convenient for her. We had to work around her schedule and once we viewed a house, she just stood by while we toured. For the past two years, we have been a client of John's. Our experience between the two realtors was night and day. If I asked to view a house, John made time to view it (even if he was going on vacation in a few hours after). John arrived to the house early and started to look at the house for any potential issues. We started the process building a home. John presented ideas that we never thought of and helped walk us through the process. Unfortunately, the builder was not reliable and we pulled out of the contract. Continuing on, John showed us houses whenever the popped up, was EXTREMELY helpful throughout the process, pointed out items that I did not think of, and made sure all of our asks were met. I feel that John went out of his way to make sure that I had everything that I needed in order to get a home. John provides honest feedback and has a very good skill set to point out positives and negatives of each house we saw.When it was time to sell the house, John was even better. John listed and had us under contract in three days, over asking. The photos of our house were beautiful and it outlined every feature we had. I felt that I had a realtor, a consultant, and more importantly, a friend to guide me through the process

Weve had a great experience working with John for a second time. He is constantly going above and beyond and made the transition as seamless as possible. He always made the time and took the effort to help alleviate the stressors that come with a first time home sale. Johns promptness, knowledge of the market, and great energy made what I had envisioned to be a chaotic process simple.
