John Duerler

John was born and raised in Southeast Texas. After playing college football at Tyler Texas, John joined the Navy and served as a jet mechanic during Desert Storm. Following his service in the Navy, John moved to Los Angeles and began his career in Real Estate. Starting as a property manager for a Los Angeles real estate development firm, John initially handled the marketing, leasing, accounting and on-site maintenance for a large portfolio of multi-unit buildings. Soon thereafter, he was promoted to Mergers & Acquisitions where he supervised the sales training program for property managers at related facilities. During his 8-year tenure at the firm, John was instrumental in building the firm's $50M+ real estate portfolio. During this same time, John began building his personal real estate portfolio, ultimately owning and managing multiple rental properties in both Los Angeles and Texas. In 2006, John moved to the Hancock Park area and quickly developed a strong commitment to the community and its continued evolution and development. This commitment, coupled with John's in-depth, hands-on experience facilitating hundreds of millions of dollars in successful transactions as a real estate manager, investor, and agent, allowed for a seamless transition when he and Jill Duerler opened the doors to their own Boutique Real Estate Office on Larchmont Boulevard - Hancock Homes Realty. Since that time, John's hard work, "can-do" attitude, and charismatic personality have helped establish Hancock Homes Realty as one of the top real estate brokerages in the neighborhood with John repeatedly ranked as the #1 Residential Sales Agent for the Hancock Park-Wilshire area. Additionally, John's well-honed negotiating skills, and zealous advocacy for his clients make him a formidable force to contend with in any real estate transaction. During his 25+ year career in Real Estate, John's success has always been tempered with a deep and abiding commitment to pay it forward and give back to the community. To that end, he is an active member of the Wilshire Rotary Club and enjoys volunteering with multiple organizations in the Los Angeles area. John is lucky enough to be the father of two smart, funny and all-around wonderful boys - Jackson and Liam. In his downtime, John enjoys playing golf and, more recently, has enjoyed learning to sail.
