Buying a home is an investment that will either pay dividends or reap havoc and it is very important to make sure you don't buy something just because you feel it is a "good deal". It must also meet your needs. Keep in mind whatever drives you to buy a house is likely what will drive a future buyer to buy it from you, and "being new" or "being the right payment" can't be the only reasons. What seems like a massive payment difference now, like $100 per month, may not seem that important if you settle for something that you really need, like an extra garage stall. At the same time, I work hard to make sure my buyers don't buy a house that has issues that will cause them regret, so it is not uncommon for me to talk buyers out of houses they think they like only to have them thank me later for helping them avoid a lot of problems. My goal is to see you succeed long term, and to be there for you as a real estate advisor not only just when buying and selling.

Remember to view your home through the eyes of a buyer. The first 10 seconds in any showing are most of what determine whether or not a buyer is going to buy the house. If there are issues before they get to the front door, the chances are good they'll skip writing but if you can keep them in love not only after they get in the front door but 10 whole seconds as they enter and start walking through, that is key. The rest of the showing is just verification of their "love at first sight" feeling or "no, this definitely is not it" feeling.

I have worked with executives of major companies, and people that work on the floor of a machine shop. It is my job to know each market so well that I can basically be in the same mind-frame as my clients and give them advice whether it is in the $600K+ range or a few hours later with clients looking to buy or sell in the $150K range.

I recently had a client referred to me that had tried to sell her home after her husband passed away, and had been listed with an agent previously that did not get the job done nor did they communicate well with her...at all. She found me on this site and I was able to help her sell and move on with her life and take the stress off of her so she could move on.

In 1998 my wife and I decided it was time to buy a house and we started asking friends and friends' parents who they would recommend as honest and trustworthy to help us, and not a single person could recommend anyone! My wife and I got into property management business with a family member in Bloomfield Hills on the East side of the state and had to get licensed for it. We soon realized just how much we missed the West Michigan and moved back here and I started up as a Realtor. God must have decided this was the field for me as I ended up being the top agent of my Remax office my very first year, then the 2nd, and then got invited to join Five Star and worked my way up the ranks here to the #1 spot now for many years. But #1 ranking means nothing if each client isn't happy and I never forget that...it is all about the client.

I never give clients advice that I myself am not acting on personally. I work with a lot of sellers and have sold a lot of properties that I owned myself...from the mansion all the way down to the starter homes. I own many single family houses, duplexes and condos, so am very hands on in the market, and have a team of agents that work with me as well so all of my clients can be serviced without having to wait for anyone. There are not many questions that I can't answer pertaining to residential real estate and my clients find this to be of great value. I also consider myself to be the hardest working guy out there and so my clients find I am pretty reachable via phone, text or email anytime day or a good part of the night for questions about anything.
