I am a team member on The Property Sisters of the Mohawk Valley. I find it to be an awkward situation when you are asked to sit down and write something about yourself. Tell people your story. Promote yourself so that others learn about you and want to work with you. I mean, there is so much to the make-up or character of a person, how do you truly express that without sounding conceded or "salesperson-like"? This is a typical struggle I guess. So here is my best effort for you to get to know a little about me....as raw and honest as I always am. I was raised in Utica by a very loving and supportive family that not only taught me to respect myself, but to respect everyone I met...regardless of who they were. I was taught that things had to be earned and through that hard work I would learn appreciation. I was taught to become educated, because through education you learn how to listen. Then I was taught to get out there and Get It Done! I have an older brother with Down Syndrome and, I only tell you that, because it was it was his innocence and nativity that I admired and it helped shape me into the person I am today. You see, he was never afraid, never felt something was too big to accomplish, LOVED everyone, and was always smiling. He didn't realize he was molding me, but it was these attributes of his that gradually became mine. It was the values, of hard-work, respect, the ability to listen, learn, and enjoy people that, I believe, led me into a very successful career in Corporate Management for nearly 24 years. So, why get into Real Estate?? Quite honestly it was through my personal experience of looking for my own home, on and off for a few years, that sparked my interest. I had a great Realtor who was patient, available, diligent, and just as excited as we were when she was taking us through our journey. It was evident that she loved what she did and how she helped people. I knew it wasn't a facade and I longed for that in my own career. I now have the honor of, not only working with and having her as a mentor, but two other equally amazing women. I am beyond confident that I can transition my problem solving mindset, results-focused dedication, and negotiating skills, that were mastered in my last career, to help my clients find their dream home.....but, I do realize that these skills are not what is most important in a Realtor. What is most important are the values that are the core of my being....the respect and work ethic that my family taught me and the love for people that my brother exuded and helped inject into me. I know I can bring that to the table, along with a ton of fun, to give buying or selling your home a unique experience.
