Joel Colvin-Associate

I was born and raised in Ruston, Louisiana in a family very involved in the real estate industry, with parents, James R. Colvin, Sr. and Johnnie F. Loyd Colvin, both having been real estate brokers, home builders and real estate developers in North Louisiana and I followed in their footsteps. I earned my real estate sales license in 1980 at the ripe age of 18! My parents both earned the coveted status of REALTORA(R) Emeritus, both with over 40 years in the business, so there are likely few in the Northeast Louisiana area with more real life experience in the real estate industry than myself. I received my real estate broker's license in 1994 and became the designated broker of Colvin and Company, Inc. until 1998. In 1998 I was recruited by Faulk & Foster, Inc., to be a zoning specialist from 1998 until 2001 and again recently as business manager of their commercial and residential real estate operations. I also served as the managing broker of Coldwell Banker Group One Realty where I was employed from 2001 until 2016, where I managed over 4,000+ real estate transactions, as well as personally listing and selling hundreds of commercial and residential properties throughout the Northeast Louisiana marketplace. I have been told that I have a multitude of gifts and talents. I do have excellent communication and technical skills, but I take the time to listen to your needs. I have over 25+ years experience representing buyers and sellers in all types of transactions. I am very involved in the REALTORA(R) community and was a past president of the Ruston Board of REATORSA(R). I have also served on the board of directors for the Northeast Louisiana Association of REALTORSA(R) throughout the years, where I currently serve on the MLS committee. I have zoning experience as an ex-officio member of Ruston Planning and Zoning Commission along with past experience working as a commercial zoning specialist for Faulk & Foster, Inc. representing numerous national and multi-national wireless communications carriers all across the United States. Colvin, is also a Lincoln Parish, Louisiana Notary Public with authority in Bienville, Caldwell, East Carroll, Franklin, Jackson, Madison, Morehouse, Ouachita, Richland, Union and West Carroll Parishes. I took my oath on January 12th, of 1990 and was commissioned on January 22nd, of 1990. I share a full life with my wife of 26 years, Margaret Carol Ayers Colvin and have 3 children and 2 grandchildren. I live in Ruston, Louisiana where I am looking forward to being of service to others in Ruston community, as well as throughout the Northeast Louisiana real estate marketplace.
