Originally from Dearborn Heights, Michigan, Joe Cutajar moved to Amelia Island, Florida in 1984, after graduating from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. For the next 7 years, Joe would enjoy an illustrious career as a chef before being recruited by the PGA Tour, where he would eventually serve as the Director of Food & Beverage for the national headquarters at TPC at Sawgrass. In 1997, Joe returned to Amelia Island as the first General Manager of the newly formed Amelia Island Club, where he opened both the Ocean and Long Point Clubhouses. In 2002, Joe transitioned into the real estate market, first serving as an agent at the Omni Amelia Island Plantation, where he consistently ranked as one of the top sales agents. After becoming a Florida Licensed Real Estate Broker, he joined Sotheby's International Realty in 2013, where he continues to enjoy success as a top five producer in his local market. From 2017-2019, Joe amassed the highest sales volume of any agent in Nassau County, FL. He was part owner of First Coast Sotheby's prior to the merger with ONE Sotheby's in 2022 and lives on Amelia Island Plantation where he enjoys cooking, spending time with his wife and combined five children, and taking advantage of all the beautiful outdoor activities that Amelia Island has to offer. Joe is also an active member of the community and serves on various non-profit committees including The Boys and Girls Clubs of Nassau County.

Joe Cutajar and Heather LaFont were able to quickly find a buyer at above asking price for my condo on Amelia Island. Even though the unit will likely require renovation, the price set a record for my entire condo complex. Two other condos in my complex went on the market before mine, yet my unit sold first. Sotheby has the ability to attract buyers from outside the region. The photos that Joe and his team posted were magnificent -- way better than those taken by other realtors for similar units. Joe was also able to successfully negotiate a reasonable resolution for repairs identified in the inspection and the disposal of unwanted furniture.

Joe and his team were very responsive to our questions, and have expert knowledge of the area. Our listing price was based on a detailed analysis if sold homes in the area. Our property was listed, with beautiful pictures and videos, and went under contract in a week. There were a few problems to sort out after the inspection and Joe and team were very involved and helpful getting the problems resolved. At the last minute, a problem was noted by the buyer and Joe got a vendor out immediately to investigate. If my husband or I called, if Joe or Heather couldn't pick up the call, the call was promptly returned. I highly recommend Joe and team!
