After moving to Boston, Joe thoroughly enjoyed buying, gutting, and rehabbing his own home. From blueprints, design, permits, construction, modification, and sale, Joe understands the entire process. He sees what others might overlook, anticipating issues and next steps, and striving to avoid problems down the road. Joe gets huge satisfaction from helping others and readily admits to excelling under pressure. At age 16, he volunteered with his local fire department as a Firefighter/EMT. After becoming a paramedic, Joe moved to Boston and worked at Boston Medflight doing air medical rescue as a Critical Care Transport Specialist before launching his real estate career. In addition to his real estate license, Joe holds a Bachelor's Degree in Management and Business, Summa Cum Laude, from Northeastern University. He lives in Dorchester with his dog, Riley, a Weimaraner. Joe is also a licensed pilot and enjoys taking to the skies whenever he can to admire all the beauty New England has to offer.

My husband and I were so fortunate to have Joe Castro as our realtor to help us buy a condo recently in the Boston area. Joe is incredibly knowledgeable about the local market and has really good relationships with other brokers and developers in the area, so he was very tapped into what properties were going to be coming on the market in the near future. He never wasted our time, always showing us only condos that we were likely to be interested in, and he offered sage advice about what to offer for certain properties. Joe was always very responsive, returning texts or phone calls quickly with the answers to our many questions. After we had found the right place and our offer had been accepted, Joe knew exactly what needed to be done and when, helping to minimize the stress on our part as we worked toward the closing date. He was able to recommend a home inspector and closing attorney who were both exceptional professionals, like he himself is. All this made for a very smooth process to our closing. My husband and I are currently in the process of selling our old place, and of course we have retained Joe for that transaction as well. He is a top-notch professional and we feel very secure in his hands.
