1) What advice would you give a buyer trying to purchase a home?
Get all of your expenses on a spreadsheet. It very important to understand the entire financial picture before adding a home into the mix. Talk with a trusted mortgage specialist about being pre approved with numbers you feel comfortable with. Having all this information will help make the process more enjoyable and eliminates any surprises.
2) What advice would you give a seller trying to sell their home?
Selling is a mindset. First and foremost you need to come to grips with moving as a whole. It is stressful. As you prepare to list, take inventory. What do you really need? Being realistic and Packing what you do not need will simplify everything. From keeping the home show ready, lessening moving/packing cost, etc. Work on little things. Touching up paint, power washing decks, patios, walkways. Freshen up the landscape, curb appeal helps. Be as flexible as possible allowing the home to be shown. Always remember it only takes 1.
3) What types of clients have you worked with?
I have worked with sellers, buyers, hospitals, professional sports teams, law firms, relocation companies, commercial properties, investors, 10 31 exchange. No 2 transactions are the same. Each individual with receive superior representation service catered to their specific need.
4) Describe a recent transaction you are fond of. How did it go?
I recently listed an amazing cabin in the woods with about 50 acres. This place was a little slice of heaven! It was a place that I could see myself unwinding and enjoying. I had worked with this seller years ago and they are first class folks. This was their families retreat for 25 years. So you can only imagine the memories that were made. I was lucky enough to handle both sides of the deal. The buyers had been looking for something just like this for a few years. They also wanted a place to escape and create memories for their new growing and extended family. Everything went just as planned and this wonder place found a new owner. I have come to find out that the new buyers and the old owner have been exchanging photos of the kids enjoying campfires, and walking in the streams. Bringing these two families together was such a joy. I am so happy and I believe that the old owner will one day be invited for a visit.
5) How did you get started in Real Estate?
I am a very competitive an passionate person. After I retired from professional baseball I felt real estate had a lot of what I was used to. The Competitive side of me want to see my clients get the most amount for their homes when selling and buyers getting the best deal possible. I care about my clients like they are family. When we form a business relationship, we formed a team. I understanding my role and my team is successful.
6) Do you have any special education or training that will benefit your clients?
I have several buyer and seller checklist that help get started and are also good reference as we move through the selling or buying process.
