The staff were all very pleasant to deal with. But Jared, the broker/owner, was horrible. He likely cost us tens of thousands of dollars by first overpricing my Mom's house and then not advising that we decline an offer that was not only contingent upon the buyer's house sale, but the buyers buyers house sale as well. Worse, after that deal (not surprisingly) fell through, he failed to update the "under contract" MLS status in a timely manner .. so we lost who-knows-how-many showings as a result. Jared was arrogant, disrespectful, deceitful, snide, careless and unhinged. Possibly the most unpleasant and unprofessional individual I've ever encountered in a business setting. Our house eventually sold, but no thanks to Jared. Against his strong objections I insisted that the house be taken off the market for a month and a half since it had become stale after 90 days. In fairness, the listing expiration date should have been extended by the number of days we were taking it off the market. But, because he's careless and scatterbrained, the addendum did not include any extension. After I had already signed it, Jared tried to sneak in an updated addendum extending the original deadline by more than what it should have been. When it was time to relist I instructed Jared to price the property at $399K. But he argued that our new asking price was too high and strongly recommended $369K instead. I stood my ground and we came back on the market at $399K right after New Years. The house sold less than two weeks later for cash and no contingencies for $390K. Thank God I had the good sense to ignore his advice. If we had listed @ $369K as Jared suggested we would have needlessly lost at least $21,000.00! And it gets worse... not only hadn't Jared offered his condolences after my Mom passed away on Jan 7th, in an impromptu email to me and my two siblings on Jan 20th, he said .. and I quote .. "You mom said at our first meeting: Good luck working with Lloyd if he gets involved... makes sense now." Seriously? Needless to say we were stunned by his callous and petty remark. We hired Jared based on his positive reviews. How he ever got so many is anybody's guess? There are far too many reputable brokers out there to ever trust this one with your hard earned dollars.
