Indro De Bock

Born and raised in Belgium, now living the American dream with my American wife and little boy Aiden. As a boy I was always admired the 'men in blue uniform'. I knew I wanted to become a police officer someday. In July of 2008 I graduated from the police academy in Belgium, and joined the police department of Ghent, a town in the Eastern Provence. Suiting up in uniform 100% motivated to help, protect and serve the citizens and feeling valuable to society, I worked for almost 13 years on the streets responding to 911-calls. I have literally seen the best and the worst of humanity, most of the time as a cop we see people on their worst day. It's important to maintain personal mental balance, composure and integrity in those moments. It's a learned and practiced skill to maintain composure and calm through chaotic, emotional and tense and situations. I experienced and learned so much in those 13 years, seen things which most people probably never will. As the years have gone by I have realized that helping people, making a positive difference in the world is what most satisfies me. Buying a sandwich for a homeless person, advising people who felt lost and desperate, acknowledging the suffering and listening to people, reassuring them there is a light at the end of the tunnel, and guiding them to the right professional help was my daily satisfaction. These are small things, but for those people it meant the world. Enforcing the law and protecting citizens was of course satisfying but not as much as making a difference for people who needed a change, a bit of kindness and hope, or some guidance. Love gave me the opportunity to explore a new world and invited new challenge. Amid the COVID crisis my wife was unable to work and we moved to the United States at the start of 2021. I welcome the challenge of pursuing a new career in real estate, influenced by my father's work in construction. I feel determined to help American's find their dream home or property. I plan to employ my skills in application of law, problem solving under pressure, and above all listening to and guiding my clients. Buying a new home is huge step in life and I am thrilled to be there for that process. I want to be the type of agent who people can trust, rely on, and feel comfortable with during their journey of buying home, making it a moment to remember.
