Poor experience overall. Just to illustrate. We literally found out when we were closing through our ring camera when the buyers were doing their final inspection. Communication, never. It was all pull for information. No push- the only thing that fundamentally got us through the transaction was this was by far not our first real estate sale, and we knew what the cadence was going to look like. The buyers finance people were by far more valuable than Hector. The house was in top condition and literally sold itself in a terrible market. Not giving him any credit for marketing either.

I am a review reader, and I don't like to write bad reviews, but I won't sugarcoat our experience. Homebuyers need to be aware. I was fooled by those OLD 5-star reviews for Hector! Our experience with Hector was unfortunately unsatisfactory and STRESSFUL! He started with promises and was eager to help us sell our home, but spiraled down after a couple of months. He is unorganized and doesn't communicate well. We had to do a lot of the footwork and constantly follow up with him. We understood we were not his only clients, but his style was not acceptable, and I communicated that with him. He initially had 2 different assistants who would follow up with us after someone came for a showing of our home. Then he had NONE. I believe he had too much on his plate. He sent a couple of text messages regarding a potential buyer who was for someone else and NOT us. It was a nightmare trying to sell our home and be our own realtor. After 5 months of being tense, we finally had a buyer. When things needed to be repaired, Hector gave us one person, who came out to our home; he evaluated what needed to be done, but never followed up or came back. Hector said he knew NO ONE else whom he could refer. That was hard to believe since he constantly reminded us he's been in business for 21+ years. We contacted our former realtor, who helped us when we first moved to San Antonio 7 years ago; she referred us to someone who did all the repairs needed before we moved. Hector did not lift a finger to go out of his way to ease stress. He translated for one guy who did our roof repairs, but that was it! During closing, we noticed an error and brought it to his attention; he was nonchalant and threw the person under the bus who made the mistake. We addressed the person, and the error was corrected. Again, he did not assist at all as our realtor. He made a lot of money from the sale of our home, but we don't feel it was much effort to earn it. It was only by God's Grace that our home sold after 5months. I like to give credit where it's due, but I will not give a good review for a horrible experience. My stress was triggered just writing this review. We have happily relocated to a different city, and our realtor, who was helping us buy our new home at the same time we were selling, did more than Hector and communicated with him during the process to try to help. Thank God that nightmare is over! Final note, he did not come to our final in-person closing!

Hector went way beyond the call of duty, was a tremendous blessing to this old widower and without his professional help I don't know what I would have done. He is far more than a realtor, his is a neighbor and has become a friend. His expertise, professionalism and care, attention to detail and easy going personality made the stress of selling a home more of a joy than a burden. He is by far the best realtor I have ever used. I have bought and sold many houses in my 71 years of life but Hector is a shining diamond amidst the coal. I have recommended him to everyone I know!

If ever we need a realtor again, he will be our first and only choice. He will be my choice when/if asked for a recommendation for good/honest realtor. Hes decent, kind, understanding, patient, and very knowledgeable in his field. With his guidance, and wisdom, we profited more than 10k above what we even knew was possible. He also kept us well informed, the entire step of the way. We arent well versed as to the possible setbacks when selling, Mr. Mendes handled it like a pro. He even successfully counseled us as we went into an occasional panic mode. We cant say enough good about Mr. Hector-Gary Mendes! Thank you sir for being there for us like you were!

(Hector) Gary Mendes assisted us with the purchase of our home (a foreclosure) from HUD. HUD is not always easy to work with and Gary made the process smooth and worry free. He stayed in touch with us and on top of the process every step of the way. We were so pleased with our experience that my husbands parents are now purchasing a home through Gary as well.

We were very impressed that Hector Gary Mendes is a broker and helped us personally, to purchase our home. Previously we had called around and every individual we spoke to was just that, an agent, never a broker! We wanted a person with a lot of experience both in understanding our needs and matching us up with homes and areas that satisfied and hopefully exceeded those needs. Mr. Mendes had many solid suggestions in financing, Purchasing while planning for the future and more. Our time to view homes was limited to after hours and Sundays. Mr. Mendes ALWAYS made time and found us what we wanted, Thank you Mr. Mendes! Your daughter Isabella is precious!
