I am a review reader, and I don't like to write bad reviews, but I won't sugarcoat our experience. Homebuyers need to be aware. I was fooled by those OLD 5-star reviews for Hector! Our experience with Hector was unfortunately unsatisfactory and STRESSFUL! He started with promises and was eager to help us sell our home, but spiraled down after a couple of months. He is unorganized and doesn't communicate well. We had to do a lot of the footwork and constantly follow up with him. We understood we were not his only clients, but his style was not acceptable, and I communicated that with him. He initially had 2 different assistants who would follow up with us after someone came for a showing of our home. Then he had NONE. I believe he had too much on his plate. He sent a couple of text messages regarding a potential buyer who was for someone else and NOT us. It was a nightmare trying to sell our home and be our own realtor. After 5 months of being tense, we finally had a buyer. When things needed to be repaired, Hector gave us one person, who came out to our home; he evaluated what needed to be done, but never followed up or came back. Hector said he knew NO ONE else whom he could refer. That was hard to believe since he constantly reminded us he's been in business for 21+ years. We contacted our former realtor, who helped us when we first moved to San Antonio 7 years ago; she referred us to someone who did all the repairs needed before we moved. Hector did not lift a finger to go out of his way to ease stress. He translated for one guy who did our roof repairs, but that was it! During closing, we noticed an error and brought it to his attention; he was nonchalant and threw the person under the bus who made the mistake. We addressed the person, and the error was corrected. Again, he did not assist at all as our realtor. He made a lot of money from the sale of our home, but we don't feel it was much effort to earn it. It was only by God's Grace that our home sold after 5months. I like to give credit where it's due, but I will not give a good review for a horrible experience. My stress was triggered just writing this review. We have happily relocated to a different city, and our realtor, who was helping us buy our new home at the same time we were selling, did more than Hector and communicated with him during the process to try to help. Thank God that nightmare is over! Final note, he did not come to our final in-person closing!
