What clients say about this agent....
I didnt deal with Gusty, I worked with Garrett Messer. After all the hype, I was disappointed with Garretts attitude and the fact that I only saw him face to face one time prior to closing. I didnt see where he was showing the house but he made it a point to tell me I needed to clean the house really well every chance he got. If he was never in the house, how did he know how it looked? Yes, this was hurtful as well as being reminded that the house needed lots of work in his opinion. Never once did Garrett say, you have a nice home. If I were selling someones home, I would say something nice to them. When he came out to meet us, I told him it wasnt ready to show. It still needed work so it was expected not to be ready. He was pushing and pushing to meet so I finally said ok. When you get cold calls from someone for months and finally agree to meet with the understanding that its not ready, then its NOT ready. Instead, it was on the market that day. I didnt mind signing a contract but I didnt know that meant on the market. Thats not an issue. I had decided to go with Gusty Gulas when I sold several years ago. Garrett was just the most aggressive at the moment which seemed good. He did keep people looking and told me his marketing was working but my house was just not worth the $$. Its really a shame because I had a solid offer in October, 2021 for 275 with no commission involved. That offer was from someone who knows the market and was making a low offer. The couple are very familiar with the property and felt they were coming in about 30 low. I dont know what the house appraised for, it would be interesting to know, the appraiser was very nice. I was also very uncomfortable at the closing with the discussion of the purchasers personal information regarding what they had to do to qualify for the loan. I believe its very embarrassing for those things to be discussed with others present. If it were me, I would be mortified. Its the first time Ive been in a joint closing and I must say I hope its the last. Garrett did come help for a couple of hours the day of closing when we were trying to finish getting out of the house. I asked Garrett on Tuesday with closing on Thursday to contact the purchasers and let them know that we needed until Friday to finish cleaning out. He flat refused. I asked him again Wednesday to contact the purchasers and let them know we needed until Friday, again he flat refused. Thursday am Garrett showed up and helped for a couple of hours and said were going to have to give them something for being late in a very snotty tone like I was a 2 year old. Since I had been trying to get him to work something out with them for 2 days I was quite aggravated and told him that this wasnt my first time selling a house and I wasnt am idiot. He basically stomped out and I didnt hear anything else. When I got to closing, I was TOLD I was paying for a hotel and a maid to clean the house. Again, with my nasty house. I said, excuse me, where did this come from? Garrett and the other realtor gave me an aEUR~eat shit and die look and went back to their chat. The other realtor asked Garrett about him getting a dumpster out to the house, I said, I did. After all, I signed the contract and set up payment which is what initiated the dumpster coming out and I called for it to be picked up. Garrett proceeded to tell her all about how many favors he called in to get the dumpster out there. Lol. I happen to have 30 years running construction offices and know the owners of a couple of dumpster companies too. Its not that big of a deal. We left the house to go to the dump and eat Thursday evening and Garrett was blowing up my phone wanting to know where we were. I was ready to go off on him and gave the phone to my son after texting, aEUR~are we not allowed to eat? I dont know what the conversation was but when we got back to the house after dinner the new owner said lets call it a night and finish tomorrow. Between the new owners and ourselves, we determined that the biggest problem we were having was that realtors. Things were much better when we dealt with each other without Garrett and his counterpart.
This is the second home Ive used Jon as my agent for. Once again Jon went above and beyond his duties as my agent. The buyers requested a lot of last minute repairs 3 days before close. Jon was very quick to line up contractors and for some of the repairs the contractors couldnt get to, with such short notice, Jon personally fixed himself so we could close on time (hes very handy). I will not use any other agent than Jon for buying or selling my home. I highly recommend him!

Graham was immensely helpful in the home buying process. As first time home buyers, my wife and I did not really know what to expect, but Graham walked us through every step of the process, and was incredibly responsive to any questions we had. We cannot recommend him enough to anyone who is looking to purchase or sell.
As a divorce agreement I had to sell my Vestavia home after the HS graduation of my youngest son. I had also to find a new home for my family and I not to mention we loved our Vestavia house. In the middle of such emotional process we found Ashley Carlson from Gusty Gulas Group. Her hard work made possible the selling of a house that it is quite unique in the area and required a buyer with a taste for different. And there was then to find a home for me, which we did. She guided me, supported me and was always there for answering my questions and doubts. She was always ahead taking all steps giving no room for failures. Thank you Ashley.
Great service, always answers every question, did everything as smooth as possible. Will definitely use her again on my next sale. She gave me insight to what I needed to do in order to attract buyers and get the most from my property. Ashley was always in contact with me on appointments, and sold my house by getting a good cash offer. I highly recommend Ashley Carson as an agent.
I am a single disabled female over 50, who had not purchased a home in over 25 years. I decided to take a leap of faith and use my new found post divorce freedom, to look into relocating from Virginia to Alabama to be closer to my daughter & new grand baby. I knew the home buying process would likely feel intimidating and overwhelming, and I wasnt sure if I could even make it happen. That is, till I was contacted by Ashley with Gusty Gulas Group. She and her team (including Jason Cook with Brik Mortgage) seemed determined to do whatever it took to make my dream of home ownership a reality. And thats exactly what they did! Ashley took the time to understand exactly what my needs were, and helped me to find just the right house to meet those needs. I'm so thankful we found each other and for her helping me start this next chapter of my life as a homeowner. Now that Ill be living closer to family I'm looking forward to making all the memories a new grandmothers house (and heart) can hold.
