Gordon helped us find and buy our house in 2016 (see my previous review), and he just helped us sell our home in 2022. Just as when Gordon helped us buy our house, our experience with him helping us to sell our house was outstanding. This was our first time selling a house, and he made what could have easily been a very stressful and confusing time much less so. In fact, it wasn't confusing at all. Gordon was very patient and thorough in answering all our questions completely. He was always available by phone or text to answer any questions we might have. Gordon walked us through each step of the process, guiding us and giving us excellent recommendations every step of the way. He never pressured us to do anything, but always gave us great advice. I'm pretty sure we ended up taking every recommendation he gave, because he's more than earned our trust through the years, and we have complete confidence in his knowledge of the market and process, and we know his decisions and recommendations always have what's best for us in mind. He recommended some minor repairs to the property, which we did, and he even provided great recommendations for people who could do the work for us. The people he recommended were all fairly priced and did a great job. He also recommended staging the house, which we did, and the staging company we used was excellent. I have no doubt that the staging helped us get a better price on the sale of the house. When it was time to review offers, Gordon went though every one in detail. He really went above and beyond explaining every small detail, every step of the way. We always felt well informed and able to make intelligent decisions. I can't tell you how important it is to have an agent who will give excellent advice, but still allow you to make your own decisions without pressuring you. Trust is also extremely important. Gordon was the perfect agent in these ways. He is very knowledgeable, approachable, and easy to talk to. There were even some minor hiccups in the process (aren't there always?), and Gordon was always there handling it. This whole process could've been much more stressful with a less professional and capable agent. There was a miscommunication with one of the contractors regarding one of the minor repairs to the property. He did a great job, but the result wasn't what I was expecting. I'm not sure where the break-down in communication happened, but Gordon took care of it. He had the guy come back out and make the fix, and Gordon actually covered it out of his pocket. I didn't feel he had to do that (the miscommunication wasn't his fault), and I was really impressed by that. But that's just the kind of guy Gordon is. Another thing that came up was one of the inspectors for one of the buyers put a minor gouge in the drywall of a wall with a ladder. Gordon was on it and got it repaired. He kept us informed every step of the way, but he handled everything. All of this was especially appreciated because we had moved 1.5 hours away. This process could've been a lot more stressful, but Gordon was conscious of the fact that we were no longer in town. We conducted meetings over Zoom so we wouldn't have to make the drive. Gordon even brought our recycling and trash bins in for us a couple times as we were getting rid of some extra trash and recyclables, so we didn't have to make an extra 3 hour round trip to bring them in off the street. Beyond all this, Gordon is a kind and honest human being, and you know this within a few minutes of meeting him. I honestly can't say enough good things about the guy. If you get the opportunity to have him as your agent, I know you'll be very happy with him.
