1) What advice would you give a buyer trying to purchase a home?
We recommend that all of our clients be prequalified for a mortgage prior to starting their home search. We work hand-in-hand with mortgage professionals that can assist you in qualifying for a loan.
Be aware that even if you have been pre-approved, your loan can fall through at the last minute if you do something to alter your credit score, like finance a new car. We advise our clients to “go dark” during the escrow period of a purchase. Don’t make any significant purchases or large unusual deposits into your bank accounts.
5) How did you get started in Real Estate?
George & Jennifer Laughton established the Laughton Team as a RE/MAX franchise in 2007 and the very next year ranked tenth among the top 100 RE/MAX international teams. They continue today as top performers in the real estate industry as they were named #1 team in the Southwest Region in December and have played significant roles in the transformation and growth of Peoria’s landscape.

Qualifications include Residential Buying and Selling, Certified Distressed Property Experts, Short Sale and Foreclosure Resource (SFR) certified, and Graduate, REALTOR® Institute (GRI) designation.
