Being born in Powell I am the 3rd of 4 generations of Powell natives. I graduated HS in 1988 and dabbled with college here at NWC. After a stint in the oilfield and deciding a career in law enforcement was for me I headed off to Sheridan for their Criminal Justice Program, where I ended up meeting Jami, now my wife of over 23 years. We adopted a new born girl in 2004 named Taylor who is independent and feisty just liked we raised her. I started my life in real estate in 2012 after 20 years of running and growing a regional chain of video stores. I love real estate and I take what i do very seriously, I hope to work with you one day to serve you and your families real estate needs.

1) What advice would you give a buyer trying to purchase a home?
Start at the Start, decide what your needs are for now and 10 year into the future. Bedroom count, bathrooms required, kitchen size, 1 living space or 2, large or small, garage stalls needed, etc. Then visit with your bank of choice if you don't have one I would be glad to recommend a few good loan officers and get qualified so you know your potential budget. At this stage call and interview real estate agents and find one who you feel is competent, honest, and who you can work with because you are going to be with for a good amount of time in the next weeks to months. Once you settle on realtor, you are ready to start seeing potential homes, be flexible, open minded, and most of all ready act when you find the one because it could be someone else's one as well.
2) What advice would you give a seller trying to sell their home?
Would you buy an old rotten banana for the same price as nice ripe one? No, they are both bananas but one is perceived to be a better value than the other. The same hold with all things we buy includeding real estate. To get the best offer, in the quickest amount of time you ahve to be willing to update and fix those things that you have gone blind to over the years. Next your realtor is you advocate take their advise on price they are often the messenger of the market condition not the maker. Convincing you realtor who is desperate to get a listing to list it higher does not result in a higher offer it results in a house sitting on the market for an extended period of time and ultimately not selling or selling at a larger discount than needed because the buyers are low-balling due to days on market. If you cannot afford to make improvements then visit with your realtor about that and let them factor that into the price.
3) What types of clients have you worked with?
I have worked with clients who bought and sold residential homes, lots and land, commercial properties and farm land.
4) Describe a recent transaction you are fond of. How did it go?
The last transaction was smooth as it goes. My buyer wanted a nicer newer home in the low 200's out of town. In one day I identified the property and we put it under contract the next day. Closed it 6 weeks later, the standard time here and she couldn't be happier. Of course not all go so smooth and I can handle any problems that arise.
5) How did you get started in Real Estate?
I was 42 and life said it was time to restart in a new field. I fell in love with and haven't looked back.
6) Do you have any special education or training that will benefit your clients?
I work on my skills all the time I am one of only 5 SRS's in Wyoming. Take allot of extra courses on sales, negotiations, and real estate when time allows.
