Don was incredibly thorough - he did independent inspections on properties we liked before we submitted bids and spent countless hours on the phone with us discussing pros and cons of the property. If sellers' disclosures contained structural repair estimates, Don called the estimators to conduct his own due diligence. He would evaluate if the estimators approach was sound and understand the criticality of repairs (e.g., foundation issues). He went above and beyond our expectations for a realtor. Throughout the entire process, Don was an excellent communicator, extremely hard working, and proved to be an honest and trustworthy advocate on our behalf. With this being our first home, we had no idea what to expect. Before meeting Don, we had put in an offer on a house with another agent and had a terrible experience, but Don assured us that working with him would be different, and definitely made good on his promise. When we first started working with Don, he really got to know us and understand what we were looking for. He did a great job explaining every step of the buying process and provided valuable insight into the local real estate market. Don made himself available for calls whenever we needed, and we really appreciated that he worked around our schedules, which often meant we had calls with him at night, on weekends, and even on a few holidays. We put in multiple offers with Don over the course of 5 months, and although my wife and I were starting to get discouraged by losing out to other offers that came in above our budget, Don gave each offer his full attention. Not only did he keep us on track with all of the steps we needed to make to submit the offer, he also spent time contacting sellers agents, inspection companies, and lenders. He did his own thorough inspections of each house, and often went back to see how the house held up after some of the heavy rain events. He even offered to go check on a family member's house during one of the storms when they were out of town. It's things like this that Don consistently did to go above and beyond the scope of what we expected from our real estate agent. We finally landed on a home that met all of our needs and was well within our budget. Don helped to negotiate getting the sellers to take care of some of the repairs prior to closing, so the house could be move-in ready. We couldn't be happier with the house and our experience working with Don! We'll definitely work with Don on future real estate transactions, and will be referring him to our family/friends!
