Very hard to work with and very sloppy. After we, the sellers, agreed to an offer and to dates, the contract came back with different information. We had another member of the team step in to help out. Unfortunately, the deal still went sour. She did little to smooth the process, but made us feel very uncomfortable, and we were left wondering what her intentions had been all along.

Sellers beware, Ms. Desellier is unethical. After I accepted an offer, I found out she had not recontacted another buyer who would have paid me more, but given her less commission. Its all about her. You may think you are getting a good deal, but who knows what she is not telling you.

Denise is dishonest, very difficult to do business with, and unprofessional. We committed to a rental property and five days later she pulled the offer without notification. There is no doubt we were first in with the offer to rent-to-own (which is how the property was listed). After a week, Denise miraculously had a buyer for the house, that was listed for rent, ditched us. We made it clear from day one that our intent was to buy the house and we weee not given an opportunity to do so. Being new to the greater Springfield area, I enlisted the support of one of my best college friends (from many years ago!), who is an extremely successful realtor in his own right, in Columbus, OHIO. My friend Joe came up with the top two realtors in Western Mass/Hartford area (one of our criteria was that our realtor needs to be strong in both states). One was Denise Desellier. We called both realtors on a Friday to see if it was possible to meet them on Sunday, as I had to drive back to Vermont for work on Monday. After my wife and I met Denise at her office on Sunday (2 day notice), we realized she spent two hours with us on MOTHERS DAY. We felt bad but were wow'd by her dedication. (The other realtor called back two days later but we'd have made up our mind on-the-spot at Denise's office. Considering her real estate pedigree background, we were taken back by how down to earth and unpretencious Denise is. She has a wonderful sense of humor but she absolutely knows her stuff! Denise carefully screened our home purchase criteria, and set us up on her system for daily emails & updates on the market. We were looking for an upper end home. Her team is wonderful, and took us to areas that they specialize in further from Springfield, such as North Hampden. But Denise took us on dozens of trips herself, throughout Longmeadow, East Longmeadow, Agawam, Enfield, Feeding HIlls, Hadley and other areas. Denise took us back to several places THREE times. We were interested in two properties, and Denise cautioned us that both were over priced, showing us detailed comps that had sold in the last six months. We made a (reasonable) low ball offer on one and it was rejected-only to find out five months later the seller was re-interested but we'd moved on. The other property, while beautiful, had a major defect in that it was not suitable for children. With our kids being grown up, that was not a problem. But Denise cautioned us on the scenario if we have to re-sell, we'd be cutting our potential buyer market by 50%. So we all agreed that for the first year, we'd refocus on renting a nice home. Denise found us a great place to live in, in Longmeadlow. And Thank God we went this route. Six months later my base of business was gone and thus we had to move. After our lease expired, we had a painless move to Florida. Had we bent under pressure from any other realtor to buy, my family and I would have had a very long seperation...possibly years, in this down housing market. It would have been painful and expensive. We owe her our deepest gratitude. Considering she made a small rental fee on us, she gave us wise advice on the Florida market, (as she knows that market well too). We still remain in contact. You can tell she has done this job FULL TIME FOR 25 YEARS. Her knowledge and skills set her apart from the other realtors immediately. She understands the difference between MA appraisals and CT appraisals and the resultant excise tax differences. She is right on when it comes to appraisals and prices as a result of her knowledge and experience. When I purchased my new house she recognized details that were not complete and included them on the sale document so I got improvements that my neighbors didn't get because she noticed.This market is difficult and the resultant changes are hard sometimes to swallow.
