1) What advice would you give a buyer trying to purchase a home?
Be prepared with a written pre-approval from your lender/bank so you are well-prepared to bid on a property. Although it can be useful to use the internet to browse potential properties, contact a local agent as soon as you are truly ready to begin scheduling tours of properties. A knowledgeable, experienced agent will help guide you to suitable properties - and have local insight regarding the market, location etc. Engage with an agent who will represent your interests as a buyer's broker.
2) What advice would you give a seller trying to sell their home?
Be prepared to negotiate if you are serious about selling and are not actually priced-to-sell! Take care of major presentation items even before you meet with an agent! An agent's first impressions of a property are important as well as a buyer's first impressions! A good agent will make construction suggestions regarding staging for marketing & photography, as well as presentation for actual "live" showings.
3) What types of clients have you worked with?
From the Sound front owner of an estate property to the local-looking-to-retire owner, from the first-time purchase buyer, to the second home beach cottage buyer, from artists to writers, to Investors and Financial Service Professionals All are treated with attention and respect. My sales efforts focus on the needs and desires of each client.
4) Describe a recent transaction you are fond of. How did it go?
Working closely with client buyers who decided to move from the west coast to the east coast to start a new AirBnB business in a new property on Long Island. After an exhaustive search, and finding success after the diligent pursuit of four potential properties, my clients closed on a historic property that suited their vision for a luxury inn!
5) How did you get started in Real Estate?
A career in commercial real estate investment/acquisitions with a trust bank in New York City.
A professional degree from NYU and a leap into buying and selling my own properties followed.
6) Do you have any special education or training that will benefit your clients?
Continuous professional training via Douglas Elliman's education program and via other training classes including Buyer Brokerage, Rental Brokerage and negotiation skills. Legal update classes via NYSAR. Continuing education on subjects i.e. mortgage financing. Diploma in Real Estate Investment Analysis from New York University's SCE.
