We selected David Holmes as our agent to sell our home in Discovery Bay, CA. David provided us excellent service to sell our home we lived in for 35 years. During our initial consultation he met with us (under no pressure) to review market analysis and determine what our selling price would be at the time we listed. He gathered several comps for comparison. We reviewed each comp, and we discussed the differences between our home and each one. He made sure we understand the process, answered all our questions and then left us alone to make our decision along with a property valuation. With his review of the property and the valuation we were very comfortable he would work well with us. After careful review of David?s information and how he?d market our home, we decided he?d do an excellent job for us. We were not disappointed and feel like we were his priority client. He had excellent marketing pictures taken and a wonderful video was produced. During the time our home was listed and being shown he made sure we had the most current market information and provided potential buyers feedback to us. David discovered we had done a renovation years ago that the County never added to the home valuation. David put in the extra effort to ensure the County recording of the home was updated and was reported accurately. This added an additional 500 square feet to the County records. When we wanted an inspection, he scheduled the appointment and was on the property while the inspection was done. The inspection uncovered a repair that needed to be disclosed. We decided to have the repair done before the sale. David assisted us in setting up a Compass (the company he works for) Credit 0% interest account that allowed us to do the repairs without drawing the money out of our savings. The account was paid off in the escrow. We would definitely recommend David if you are considering selling your home.

I initially contacted David knowing next to nothing about the homebuying process, with a vague idea of what my wife and I were looking for in our relocation from (my wifes native) NYC to (my native) Oakland, CA. David was immediately engaging, and clued me into some of the general process points (pre-approval, offer date, getting into contract, etc). When we arrived in Oakland my wife and I began a steady diet of 6-10 open houses per weekend, mostly getting a sense of what we liked and didnt like, and occasionally touching base with David when we had questions or when there was a place we thought we might want to make an offer on. David was an ideal partner for us; hes savvy and has a great understanding of the Oakland housing market, as well as numerous valuable connections across the real estate ecosystem to assist at every stage of the process. Davids wealth of knowledge and resources allowed my wife and I to really focus on just the do we like it or not? part of the equation and trust him with the corresponding legwork. Eventually our efforts became more targeted. We had a much stronger sense of what we were looking for, wed zeroed in on a single neighborhood, and we were often visiting homes via private showings with David, who was always extremely flexible/generous with his time. His most impressive work mightve been on a house we ended up falling out of contract on. The sellers agent was seemingly in the wind for much of the contract period, and David stretched to fill that void as much as possible, and keep the deal on track for as long as he could. Though we eventually fell out of contract anyway, it was clear to me by the end that there was nothing more that couldve or shouldve been done from our side. The bottom line is David works his tail off on behalf of his clients. This at least was our experience with him. Today were happy homeowners, and David played an integral role in our journey getting here. Wed highly recommend him to anyone looking for a home in the east bay.
