J.M. Barrie professed that one should "always be a little kinder than necessary." I believe that, in the end, business is personal--what could be more personal than buying your first home, your forever home, or adding to your investment portfolio? This philosophy is the driving force behind my actions: I treat my clients as I hope to be treated--with attentiveness, kindness, integrity, and a genuine concern for their success and happiness.
I absolutely love my work and this passion is reflected in the level of attention, enthusiasm, and service I provide each client. I renovated my first home during my freshman year of college, and I instantly fell in love with the challenge and excitement of transforming a neglected property into a beautiful home. Since that point, I have renovated over 19 homes and moved as many times. As a Realtor, I also understand what it is to be in the shoes of the buyer, the seller, or the investor--these personal experiences help me to empathize with and anticipate the needs of my clients. When my daughter was born, I left my teaching position and began my real estate career in Nashville. I have since moved to the beautiful mountains of Southwest Virginia. I am passionate about the natural beauty, people, and small towns of our region and I am so grateful to call Southwest Virginia home! If you are looking for someone who works hard, returns calls and texts quickly, and is genuinely interested in helping--I'd love the opportunity to work with you!

Cynthia, I cannot thank you enough for helping us buy our slice of heaven in Damascus VA. Your communication and negotiation skills helped land the deal on time and at the right price. But your knowledge of the market and enthusiasm made this so easy. Thank you for everything.

Cynthia was great to work with, especially as out of state first time buyers! She was very receptive to our feedback and got to know our style and preferences in order to recommend homes we were excited to see. She is knowledgeable about the area and gave great recommendations to restaurants, shopping, lenders, etc which was very helpful! She got us our perfect home in a great location for a great price and had our back the whole way, to include pointing out minor flaws so we didn't overlook anything only to be disappointed later. We did not feel rushed or pushed in any way. She worked with our schedule as we had limited time to travel into town, and offered a virtual tour which helped so much. She traveled through rain, snow, and sleet for us too! I would absolutely work with her again or recommend her to anyone who needs an agent in the area!
Best google search EVER! After 6 years of commuting almost an hour to work I finally decided to relocate to be closer to my work family. I asked around for recommendations for a realtor; everyone could give me names they've heard of but no one could tell me if these folks were any good to work with. I took myself to google so I could attempt to make an informed decision. After reading lots of recommendations and reviews, I knew Cynthia was just the lady I needed to help me purchase my first home. Cynthia is incredibly knowledgable about all aspects of the home buying process and answered all of my questions, some before I even had the chance to ask them. I know she had many clients at the time she was working with me but her responsiveness, attention, and care made me feel like I was her sole client. Cynthia made the home buying experience feel simple and stress free. I am forever grateful for her help. You absolutely will not regret choosing Cynthia as your realtor.
Cynthia was great from start to finish. She did a fantastic job helping us navigate our cabin purchase from out of state while working with challenging sellers. She knows the area very well. She is very helpful and responds quickly to her clients. I recommend Cynthia without hesitation!
I hope I never have to buy a house without Cynthia Routon. She is, hands down, the best realtor I've ever worked with. I trust her judgment entirely--she not only has experience buying and selling homes, but she's an expert on renovating and restoring properties (which makes her an asset when assessing a property's potential). She's like a property inspector, a realtor, and a trusted friend all rolled into one. I can't recommend her highly enough.
Cynthia showed us a home in Abingdon, provided us a tour and introduced us to the owners. She was extraordinarily helpful, observant and personable during the viewing, and an absolute pleasure to interact with! In the process of trying to negotiate a sale price with the owners, she was responsive and prompt to update offer contracts and relay information between us and the sellers. The owners opted to not sell us their home, but I walked away with a great deal of appreciation for the extra miles Cynthia went to help come to an agreement, and her endless patience with my questions, comments and concerns. I'm not the kind of person who writes reviews, good or bad; but Cynthia left such a positive impression on me in our dealings that sharing how great a realtor and wonderful person she is is the least I can do!
Cynthia is always willing to answer any questions I may have and always was able to ease my mind about buying/closing. She is always so friendly and ready to help in anyway that she can and I am so glad I chose her to be our realtor!
