What clients say about this agent....
When we were moving to Austin, my husband connected with Chris and he helped us find a rental while we settled and learned the area. When we ready to buy, we contacted Chris again. After Chris showing us numerous homes and submitting multiple offers, he used his expertise on our style and needs and showed us a new build model. It was just what we were looking for in a home. Chris was with us step by step, followed up with the builder, and stayed on top the process - no easy task with the weather and resulting delays. I would highly recommend Chris.
Chris came to me as a recommendation from a family member 3 years a go. I have since hired Chris 5 separate times. I trust Chris with the most significant real estate decisions. I have sold and purchased property, and leased through Chris. On the sell side he will work with you get your property listed, marketted and sold for the best price. On the buy side, Chris is patient and supportive. In the crazy Austin market, expertise and grit helps land and best homes and Chris has done this for my family twice. If you are not yet convinced Chris is your guy, did I mention he can also lease out your investment property? Yes he does it all. Chris will deliver and will be your real estate partner so give him a call before he stops accepting new clients !
We recommend Chris for making it happen for you in Austin! Chris was by our side every step of the way.... we took longer than we expected to find the right house, and Chris was always there with information and answers! Chris knows the Austin neighborhoods well, and he won't let you overpay for a house. We appreciated his advice, his patience, his negotiation skills, his advocacy, and his knowledge of the Austin market.
After searching for a home for several months and feeling overwhelmed and defeated, we reached out to Chris, and he made us feel like we had a chance in this market to get exactly what we were looking for. We needed someone 100% on our side, and Chris always had our best interest in mind. He never made us feel pressured and always provided his honest opinion. He made our home search more exciting. It is still hard to believe we got everything we were looking for in a home and at a great deal!! Chris is a great negotiator, and will not back down from a challenge. He also has an amazing list of recommendations for contractors, which we have used and loved! We couldn't have asked for a better realtor. We are so grateful we decided to work with him and would recommend him to our friends and family.
My husband and I highly recommend Chris Matthews (Austin Home Seekers) without reservation: He is awesome! If you are looking for a dedicated, caring, knowledgeable and patient realtor who will put your best interest first, be available, negotiate keenly and have a great sense of humor, Chris is the realtor you should choose. We had bought and sold several homes before moving to Austin, have dealt with various good agents and have found Chris to be the best. He was not recommended to us by anyone we know. We found him through a thorough search starting with Austins top realtors based on their number of successful transactions and awards. Going through the list, we looked for realtors with Knowledge and experience in Austin and who had knowledge of construction and pricing. Chriss name stood out. A realtor can have all these qualities but also has to be someone people can have confidence in and can trust. We then read many raving reviews and were impressed. We called Chris.True to the reviews, Chris was friendly and knowledgeable and able to answer our questions. He asked what we wanted and why as well as what we didnt want and why. As we spoke, we felt confident we made a good choice.Rather than just sending homes from the multiple listing, Chris culled the homes that met our criteria and patiently showed them to us. He was always available and made us feel like we were his only clients, although we knew that was far from true. As far as being knowledgeable, Chris told us when he thought a house was overpriced and was able to identify both good and bad aspects of a house and area. He also told us what would be needed to make improvements and repairs. In addition to being patient, Chris has a great sense of humor and makes buying a home even in a crazy competitive market a good painless experience. And we do not believe you will find a more dedicated realtor. Chris showed us a house the morning of a scheduled afternoon surgery! We later found out that he went to a closing the day after that surgery. When we finally found our aEURoeforever houseaEUR? Chris made sure everything went smoothly. He always made us a priority and was present through every step of the transaction. We have come to know Chris through our home search and have the deepest respect for his pride in his work and his dedication to his clients.Plus, he has aEURoeguysaEUR?. Chris has been great about giving us names of people who can help with repairs and improvements that need to be made.
Highly recommend Chris- hiring him was probably one of the best decisions I made. In this crazy competitive Austin market you definitely want a realtor like Chris. I was a first time single home buyer totally raw to the process. I heavily relied on Chris to guide me on the best offer terms, educate me on the buying process, be my sounding board when evaluating options and always give me honest advise just like a friend would. With Chriss immense experience, you can always trust no matter the situation you would always get the best possible outcome- I never once had to second guess him. I was extremely picky about the location I wanted to be in but with my budget and specification, the choices were far and few. When the right house came along, Chris knew it was the right one even before I was convinced- he knows a good thing when he sees it. My offer wasnt even the top offer on the house but he made the offer terms really attractive to the seller which created an opportunity for a counter and match offer. He also helped negotiate the offer down during the option period which totally blew my mind given Austin markets situation. I have a crazy busy job but since Chris is super flexible with his hours it made it very easy to work with him. 5 stars for Chriss communication- He is super responsive and will answer every question with great clarity and detail so you are not running around like a headless chicken. I also loved the fact the Chris was my only point of contact who gave me aEURoeone right answeraEUR? every time. Home buying can be stressful but Chriss fun personality keeps things pleasant and entertaining. I could go on to write all the great things about Chris but from my perspective I honestly dont think I could have gone through the home buying process without him- he was my rock and with him on my side I always knew I had 100% cover. Overall I had a great experience working with Chris and will recommend him to anyone trying to navigate the Austin property market.
Chris helped me buy my first-ever investment property in the surrounding Austin area. I couldn't imagine a better home-searching and buying process than the one I had with him.Chris is incredibly patient and knowledgeable, and took the time to answer all of my many and frequent questions, as well as to thoroughly educate me on the entire home-buying process. Before choosing Chris I'd had a few other realtors set me up on MLS auto-searches, whereas Chris took the time to understand exactly what I was looking for and would hand-curate and send me the best listings each day.Even though I was searching in a super hot market, I never felt rushed or pressured to make a decision. I felt Chris had my best interests in mind, and I always felt like a priority to him, almost as though I was his only client, even though I know he had dozens of others at the same time I was working with him.He always pointed out issues or critical aspects of homes, foundation, contracts, hoas, and taxes, with my best interest at heart, as opposed to trying to gloss over problems to get another home sold quickly at my expense. Chris also owns several investment properties of his own and fully understands cash flow and how to find a good investment deal.I never expected the home-buying process to be fun, but Chris makes it easy to find humor and fun in normal, boring, and stressful situations, which made me look forward to home tours and even writing contracts.I ended up getting a good deal on an off-market duplex because I had Chris as my agent. It was one I'd bid on and lost out to a cash offer. Chris has a habit of going above and beyond to establish great relationships with the other agents, and when the cash deal fell through the selling agent reached out to only Chris and offered us a chance to make an offer. I was able to offer $20K less than what I had originally offered and we got the deal plus another $5K off Chris negotiated during the option period. Having Chris as my agent was the only reason I was able to get that rare off-market, great duplex deal in this insanely hot Austin market. If you want a realtor who will work hard to find you the best house possible, always be available for you, who is patient and knowledgeable, and will also make the entire process something fun you look forward to each day, then Chris is the best there is. I couldn't recommend anyone more to have by your side during the home searching process.
Chris helped my fiancA(C) and I relocate from Dallas to Austin in the beginning of 2020. He showed us a nice mix of houses in several different neighborhoods. He even took the time to do a few facetime walk throughs. Talk about white glove service!
Home buying process is a forever learning curve where you have to realize what are hidden behind pretty pictures as well as getting the negotiations and offers competitive, as well as finding a property that balances what you want vs. need in your budget. Additionally, trying to assess the property in whole objective manner would be impossible for normal home-buyers when you attach your emotions to them because they are the places you will be living for years to come. Chris is fully knowledgeable, equipped with all the expertise around Austin Metro area, not to mention his humors. What I value most of Chris as the best agent during the whole process is his ability to show all the pros/cons of all properties beyond what is shown on MLS listing facts. What are shown in listings and what we see at the property usually do not tell all the stories and Chris strives to provide us all the unseens/not-thought-about-thoses to our attention so that we can assess/compare homes as wholesome as possible. Any information about the property from Chris would be to the point, plain and simple so that everyone can understand. Not to mention his prompt response speed and more information than you could ever ask for, he will try to make all home buying process seamless and as simple as possible. from the offer to closing, we were promptly informed and everything went smooth thanks to his reminders and clear instructions. It has been a year since our purchase and all the pros/cons Chris mentioned about the property resonate while living here. I certainly believe that the whole home buying process was only made simple and easy because of his help. What is not conveyed in this review is how much we enjoyed our home buying process. Some people find the process very challenging and stressful, but we really enjoyed all visits to all properties and whole process because Chris accommodated us in everyway. I still contact him for his advice on house managing + humors and our family truly cherishes the relationship. He will be our #1 agent we will go for.
In 2019 my wife and I decided to look into buying our first house. Before this, we had only lived in apartments so it goes without saying we were very inexperienced with buying a home. One of my wife's coworkers recommended we get in touch with Chris Matthews as he recently helped them move into their new home. We told Chris more or less what we were looking for, what side of Austin we wanted to live on and what budget we had to work with. Within a day, Chris had already compiled a list of several homes that met that criteria and a few days later we hit the ground looking at houses together. My wife and I both have very demanding work schedules but Chris was more than accommodating with working with us to find time to look at houses. Over the course of the next couple of months, we saw a few dozen houses. Chris proved to be very knowledgeable when it came to what to look for in a house. There were instances were my wife and I were initially attracted to a few houses but Chris was quick to note that there might be underlying issues that might be big problems later on down the road such as evidence of foundation issues or the home sitting on a flood plain. I feel this was very important for us because my wife and I had no idea what to watch out for but it felt like Chris always had our back. Conversely, Chris also expressed how some homes had a lot of potential should we put our own spin on things. All the while, Chris was extremely knowledgeable about the value of a home and what price we should offer. Chris put in extensive work researching information about the houses and running comparison reports for the neighborhood to ensure we were not getting the raw end of the deal. When we finally found a house we were happy with and that checked all the boxes, Chris also negotiated with the sellers on our behalf. Compared to other properties, to me at least it appeared we had little room to negotiate but Chris found a way to secure a few extra things such as appliances, a home owners warranty and a little off the final price. In the end, we could have not be any happier we chose to work with Chris. Through the whole process it felt like he took time to listen to our likes/dislikes and cater the home buying process to us. It always felt like he had our best interest at heart. So long as Chris Matthews is a realtor in Austin, he will always have our business and recommendation.
