While we would have been happy to keep renting, we wanted to explore buying to take advantage of low interest rates and a relative buyers market. Carolyn was incredibly knowledgeable and taught us A LOT about real estate: not just what to look for in an apartment, but what to look for in a building ("Always go to the basement of a building, you can learn a lot.") We ended up looking for ~6 months; she was incredibly patient as we went through several places. When she gave us this advice that was working against her own interest, we knew we could trust her, absolutely.
