This review is long overdue. When I received military orders from Oregon to Charleston in February 2016, my husband and I knew we wanted to buy a house. We tried emailing multiple established realtors in the area, and Brooke was the first (non-automated) response we received with a warm welcome to the area and questions about what we were looking for. She worked with us from a distance for 4 months before we actually moved, managing our expectations and sending us dozens of listings to pick through. She set aside her entire week to shuttle me around Summerville when I flew in to house hunt in April. She picked so many great homes for us to view, and even brought me back twice to the same house when I forgot to take pictures the first time. She was super accommodating, professional, and knowledgeable of the area as a lifelong resident. She even took me out to lunch at what is now our favorite restaurant! Her knowledge of the process made the paperwork portion of the home buying experience a breeze. She used an online application that allowed us to electronically sign all documents, making buying from such a distance so much easier. She expertly advised us on appropriate offers, and had our first offer accepted within 48 hours. While the offer was pending, she continued to take me around for days just in case that house didn?t work out. Once under contract, she coordinated the home inspection and negotiated to ensure the sellers assumed responsibility for the vast majority of repairs. All packed up and en route on our trek across the country, we hit a snag with the title insurer that ultimately led to expiration of our financing application. We had to start over with a new lender, terrified and homeless just two weeks away from being in Charleston. She worked quickly and diligently with an alternate insurer to mitigate the problems, and even drew up a preoccupancy agreement with the seller?s agent so we could move in upon arrival despite not having closed. She met us at our new home the evening we arrived to give us the keys and show us around. Brooke made what would typically be a tense endeavor (military move, first time home buyer) easy and stress-free. To top it all off, she gifted us a wonderful welcome/housewarming basket with locally-made goods (including beautiful embroidered hand towels). She still touches base with us from time to time as we come up on the one-year anniversary of home ownership, just to see if she can be of any further assistance:) Brooke was such a blessing through the whole process and I?m forever grateful for her role in putting us in our first home!
